The best way to celebrate #ThankAResidentDay would be to increase residency spots, pay us better, and make sweeping institutional changes that are founded in anti-racism, equity, and justice.

It’s really not unreasonable to have the expectation that everyone should be able to have enough resources to live comfortably and have access to high quality health care, food, life essentials.

A few takeaways from Dr. Marwan Abusada’s (Chief of Surgery at Shifa Hospital in #Gaza) presentation. ▪️The hospital is overwhelmed. Capacity is approx 250 but they’ve seen >450 injured patients in the last 5/6 days

Dr AbuSada highlighting the need for surgical specialists to care for the victims of the bombings in Gaza. Not that we in the #globalsurgery community should need an excuse to speak out against these attacks - but this is a reminder that this is very much in our lane.
