Week 1 at the EMpower Founders Residency 🇻🇳 We and @sqrDAO gave the teams a space to focus on one thing: building and shipping. And yes, they shipped. From full platform security audits and fiat checkouts to localized SEA rollouts and 100% MoM growth, the builders here are in full execution mode. The energy in the villa is exactly where it needs to be. Time to lock in for Week 2 🔒💪

Glad to come all the way to Vietnam for EMpower Founders Residency at the Da Nang Blockchain Hub, managed by @sqrDAO and @Lisk , one of the top builder communities in Vietnam. Most people still talk about “Asia” or “Southeast Asia” as if it is one single market. It is not. Every country has its own language, culture, user behavior, regulatory landscape, capital base, and distribution channels. No two Asian markets are the same. On this panel, we had a very deep discussion on go to market strategy across Southeast Asia, broken down into four key areas: 1. Distribution 2. Regulation 3. Capital Markets 4. Tech I was very proud to represent Thailand and make the case that Thailand is one of the most advanced countries in the region when it comes to digital asset regulation. A lot of people were surprised by this at first, but once we walked through the evidence, it became much clearer. Thailand has had a dedicated digital asset regulatory framework since 2018, licensed operators, an ICO portal regime, active tokenization projects, programmable payment experiments under the Bank of Thailand sandbox, 5 year no capital gains tax on crypto and a regulator that has continued to engage seriously with the industry. Vietnam stood out on tech. The country has strong engineering talent, a young population, and a very real startup and builder culture. You can feel the energy on the ground seems like many people want to become a startup founder. @Cris7ran Also a lot of good insights from Mr. @TheVinhNguyen4 on Vietnam Crypto landscape and the new vision for crypto regulations Singapore remains the king of capital. When it comes to whales, family offices, banks, market makers, and institutional money, Singapore is still the number one hub in the region. If you want TVL and access to big institutions then expanding to Singapore is a must. @alxs0x @bytesbybree The Philippines and Indonesia stood out as powerful distribution markets. Both have large retail user bases, strong grassroots communities, and real potential for mass adoption. @0xDankiii @Dennisyou6 The biggest takeaway that most western audience may not know: There is no single “SEA strategy.” You need to understand what each country is truly good at, and build your playbook around that. Huge thank you to sqrDAO and Lisk for making this happen, and for bringing together builders and operators from across the region. Thank you for all the team that make all this happen @sqrdao_intern + @thb0301_ Southeast Asia has so much potential. And the more we learn from each other, the stronger the whole region becomes.
