It’s not like they won’t let you join unless you pay a fee. It is more this is how we support the mission of the church.

Fight them Gavin they are already out of control! Prices have spiked around the state you should go fill up at local areas to get an idea of how much gas per gallon is. Premium is up over 7 and regular is mid 6s. Many look to Costco or Safeway for cheaper gas but even those are now about 5 in the Bay Area. Why are we paying more than the rest of the country? Does the gas have glitter in it because it’s double or triple what other states are paying.

It’s the differences between the old and new law.

Oh wow, I’ve been in the church of christ my entire life (38 years) and never have I ever heard of a membership fee for being apart of The body or the church itself. That maybe because our church follows new covenant and we use the scripture given by paul in Corinthians on giving. But I’m glad I know now that some congregations have membership fees to join. Because I’ve never seen that at all.

@live2beingu @KollegeKidd I agree wholeheartedly and clip was a flippant misuse of the pulpit in my opinion. However, he did address his comment to members. There is a difference between members and attendees. Some churches state up front the membership requires paying tithes as the scripture defines.

@MissMysticHicks @KollegeKidd Correct, because God already knows your heart and how much you can give. Preaching is hard but if I recall it correctly the apostles all had a trade that they used to help themselves and further the work.
