@MovieFlameProd I like the movies but always wondered how people who hadn’t read the books could enjoy them. In some parts I’d wonder what they even thought was going on because so much context and backstory was left out lol. I’m looking forward to them having more time to tell the full story.

We need to stop pretending the movies were perfect adaptations. They sucked in a lot of ways. Just to list a few things they fucked up off the top of my head: -Ruined Ron in favor of Hermione -Ginny was not Ginny -Made HBP a comedy when it should have been the second or third darkest film -Removed all the mystery aspects from GOF when it was written as a mystery book -Removed almost all of the Voldemort memories (one of the most important parts of the main villain) -Didn’t get the Quidditch World Cup -Missed 80% of Quidditch games at Hogwarts -Made those who haven’t read the books want Harry & Hermione together (Have Steve Kloves to thank for that) -Took away Grindelwald’s redemption in favor of making him tell Voldemort to kill Dumbledore instead -Completely changed Sirius’s character in OOTP And I could list 50 other things that they didn’t have time to cover, and I’ll probably think of another 20 things they messed up if I actually sit down and think about it. The movies were great, but let’s not pretend they’re perfect.

Why are they remaking Harry Potter when there's no problem with the current movies?

@sp0o0kylights @Gryffix Fine then let's just send 6-year-olds into movie theaters on their own. Since you don't see anything wrong with a 13 year old sitting next to a 50-year-old man alone with no adult supervision

These modern day parenting Olympics where parents try to one-up each other on how intensely they monitor their children are part of the reason why young people don't want kids anymore. You all make it seem like being a parent means your life just ends.

@HighHeelEsquire She is THIRTEEN. If she was 16 or 17, yes this would be crazy overbearing. What are they doing at just 13 they don’t want the mom to see? She’s too young to be totally unsupervised. I don’t think this is too much at all. They’re babies.

@lexisoupertramp The responses are wild. It was totally normal to go to the mall/movie with friends when I was 13 in the early 2000s. We’d walk over as a group after school (wasn’t far). Parents would pick us up later. Was not controversial to start to gain some limited independence at that age.

seeing 13yos called babies is so infuriating as an educator. this is the primary reason there’s a resiliency crisis happening right now-everyone is proudly raising Adult Babies, setting their children up for failure, and then writing think pieces about why they won’t move out.

@loriwat44025063 @Provokethoughtz This isn’t at all about grandparents. If a woman allows her mother it’s because she’s comfortable with her own mother seeing her in that state. The in-laws don’t have the same relationship. The fact that they will all be grandparents to the baby is totally irrelevant.

I heard a woman say that she doesn’t regret her kids, but if she could choose to start her life over, she wouldn’t have them. And I remember thinking…isn’t that another way of describing regret? Being a parent is absurdly challenging. But even on the hardest days, I’ve never once wished for a life where my children didn’t exist. If there are a thousand lifetimes, my soul would look for theirs in every single one. Because being a parent is the greatest paradox of existence. It has taken more from me than anything else & given me more than I could ever lose.

@cselley @Englebertus No they are. Not even just tourists but even people from Toronto / GTA who don’t normally use the subway. I’ve given many people directions over the years where I’ve had to clarify the difference between Dundas and Dundas West stations to avoid them going completely the wrong way

Literally this is Dawson and Pacey in one of the last episodes of the show. They never even officially reconcile on screen. The coolest thing about Dawson’s Creek is that they weren’t scared of massive relationship changes or lasting consequences for their characters actions
TAMAM I GUESS@NadiaKNM1

Dawson's Creek handled the triangle so masterfully. The moment Pacey and Joey crossed the line the brotherhood Dawson and Pacey had shattered. They never got back to normal. Actions had consequences. In the Pacey/Joey/Dawson sage both boys chose the girl over each other every time

Team USA freestyle skier Hunter Hess: “It brings up mixed emotions to represent the U.S. right now. there’s obviously a lot going on that I’m not the biggest fan of and I think a lot of people aren’t. Just because I’m wearing the flag doesn’t mean I represent everything that’s going on in the US.” #Olympics2026 🇺🇸
