I'm almost on the verge of giving up. There are only three news outlets that I can see who don't punt the Trump/Farage/Bannon propaganda now. That's it. Three. @DailyMirror | @BylineTimes | @TheNewWorldmag How can we fight the Daily Mail, BBC, Sky, ITV, the S*n, the Express, GB News, the Times, the Telegraph, LBC, Radio 4, Times Radio, Talk TV? On LBC right now, Tom Swarbrick is crowing over what will happen when Farage becomes Prime Minister. Nick Ferrari has him as a guest [again] tomorrow. It feels like a forgone conclusion to these people in power. Sky and the BBC are giving bandwidth to Trump's latest anti-science conspiracy theory. @Ofcom @DCMS @lisanandy all seem quite content with losing their positions if Reform were to win an election. So why bother? I don't get paid for this stuff. Neither do the other folks on here fighting the good fight. So why should we continue if 90% of our media won't? In the last six months, we, on this hellscape of an app, have uncovered more dirt on Farage and his Reform cronies than the entire press ecosystem put together, but it doesn't seem to matter. What's the point in shouting when the majority aren't prepared to listen? They seem dead set on a Reform government. A fascist government. The billionaires are moving the pieces so far above our heads that it doesn't even register. They have the plan, and it's being vociferously stuck to. I won't give up. I can't. But sometimes I get a bit overwhelmed by the Sisyphean task. The sheer height of the hill.

ANALYSIS: The treatment of Jess Phllips over recent days tells me all I need to know about the epidemic of misogyny, sexual abuse and violence against women and girls that still plagues our culture. The domestic violence campaigner-turned politician, who has spent her career fighting for victims, has found herself the subject of abuse on an industrial scale over the past week that has put her in danger, and, in dark moments, left her wondering whether she should give up frontline politics for good and go back to the women’s hostels where her journey to champion vulnerable women and girls began. Outspoken and a women’s campaigner, Phillips has long been a lightning rod, but when the world’s richest man, who owns a social media platform with 211m followers, starts trolling you as a “rape genocide apologist”, complicit in a what he claims is a ‘cover-up’ of the most disgusting and sickening abuse, that’s a different order of attention, and danger. This week the female politician charged with trying to protect the actual victims of these unspeakable crimes becames subject to an avalanche of abuse - and threats - herself. It was undoubtedly horrific for Phillips, who tells me she felt physically sick and hunted as the tweets came raining down. And as everyone piled in with their outrage and indignation, where were the voices of the actual victims themselves? It has been so vicious and noisy and fraught as the very serious matter of grooming gangs and the exploitation, rape and torture of young victims turned into a political battleground of finger pointing and point scoring. Billionaires should not own social media platforms. Billionaires should not run our newspapers. Billionaires should not control our politics. A free media is a democratic media - a public good that is owned and run by us all.

I legitimately believe Elon Musk may be going mad. I'm a Musk biographer who has been tracking his online behavior for the last two years—and given that he's admitted to all of mental illness, heavy drug use, and crippling stress, it is now reasonable to fear he is deeply unwell.
