In reviewing the atrocious events that have occurred over the last few days, I have taken the time to reflect on my days as United States Ambassador to Malta and the time I was able to host Israeli President Shimon Peres at the American Embassy in 1995. The conversations I had with President Peres left a profound impact on me. I hope and pray that the wisdom of President Peres, a man of peace, is amplified during these dark times.
