@ori_goldberg Sleep well. So many of us admire you not just politically, but personally and are pulling for you. (That sounds really lame & ineffective, I know, but it’s sincere!)

Sharing what I witnessed within <10 min this am around 7:15-7:25 in the vicinity of 4th Av/9-10 Sts - a story in 3 parts (1/4). @TransAlt @StreetsblogNYC

@wildnewyorkshow Tough call! You need to add being asked to put their dog on leash, though. In my experience that’s the worst.

@DougHenwood Y’think she would have carried NY if only she’d had his endorsement? Oh, wait…

I took advantage of this gorgeous fall day to cast my ballot for @ZohranKMamdani; NYC at its best!

@yonawallach6 @academic_la I understand your disclaimer that this is not an act of heroism, nor is it all about you - but can I just say that you are showing courage, clear-sightedness and humanity? In these times that combination is pretty darn heroic.

@YonahLieberman That graphic, wtf! It hurts the eyes and is impossible to read. Keep these coming, Andrew, pretty please.

Vote for me, the Democratic Candidate, on a ballot line for a made up party you’ve never heard of!!
*Ignore the candidate on the Democratic Party ballot line

@ori_goldberg You’ve given us a lot, Ori. So grateful to you for your insights and your unflagging humanity. Holding you in my thoughts.

@ori_goldberg I don’t know if listening to Phil Ochs “Love me, I’m a liberal” would calm you down, or further enrage you. But it does show that smugly murderous hypocrisy is not unique to this moment, or to Israel. As someone from the US, I recognize it all too well.
English

I have taught myself a modicum of restraint. I rarely get into arguments. I stew silently. My cancer requires that I refrain. But something in Netanyahu's speech or in the sense of an approaching "deal" is making Israeli "liberals" certain that now is the time to declare their bona fides, to make sure the world sees "it is not their fault". They blame everyone, from the Israeli media ("they are dominated by Netanyahu and have been hiding what is being done in our name") to the Netanyahu base (all kinds of condescension and racism). Everyone is at fault but them.
The lie is so blatant I find myself breaking my vow to avoid debates. Israeli pilots kill dozens of Palestinians a day. Not one of them has refused to comply with genocidal orders. Most pilots would call themselves "liberals". I can understand, and fight, the origins and lessons learned of overt Fascism. These "liberals", the ones who must have it both ways, the ones who commit and enable the genocide but will go to their grave convinced "it wasn't them", they drive me around the bend. Their smug sense of entitlement is the clearest evil I have encountered over the past two years.

@TheBirdist But in an alternate, somewhat possible fantasy life, it’d be G. I have enough familiarity to be not completely overwhelmed, but still a lot to learn; I love the food/landscapes/cultures; and OMG the birds.
English

@TheBirdist I am super literal-minded, and the best part of birding for me is doing it every day, as naturally as breathing or eating. So I have to go with where I live or have roots and could imagine living again (NYC and Toledo/Detroit), and that’s H (if I read the map correctly).
