I suspect UF DEI policy would change quickly if all the Black football and basketball players transferred to another school. It wasn't until 1958 Black people could even attend the University of Florida & it wasn't until 1970, UF had its 1st black football player.
FLORIDA@UF

.@EDSecMcMahon is correct. DEI is discriminatory by design, antithetical to the purpose of a university, and incompatible with the pursuit of truth. The University of Florida has already acted on that conviction. In December 2025, our Board of Trustees adopted institutional neutrality and embedded an anti-DEI mandate within the presidential contract itself, ensuring that no university funds, public or private, will underwrite DEI at this institution. Dr. Stuart Bell stands with Secretary McMahon, the Board, and the people of Florida on this. He is ready to lead UF forward as a university defined by merit, rigor, and the pursuit of truth.

@HipHopPrez @CharlesN83072 Nice try served in the military for 22 years and I don’t buy saw green. I’m against policies that give any RACE an advantage. How about they just omit the race/ethnicity question on applications?

@CharlesN83072 @lnvisibleMayhem Looking for your posts criticizing the hiring of Noem, Patel. McMahon, Hegseth, Kennedy, etc. I’ve been more qualified for every job I have had than any of these folks. Why is it you’re concerned about merit only for Black people?

The real crazy thing is that this post violates the neutrality policy it references. Plus an institution that refused to admit Black people for over 100 years had as its founding purpose discrimination.

@UF @EDSecMcMahon Most of the people replying are replying out of emotion and not logic. DEI policies are inherently discriminatory and the Supreme Court has already ruled against them. There is natural diversity in the merit system.

Secretary Linda McMahon@EDSecMcMahon

We need bold leaders to reorient higher education toward merit, truth-seeking, and academic rigor. Florida has led the fight to get discriminatory DEI out of our schools and universities. UF deserves a president who will continue to drive those reforms.

NEW: A Trump administration internal document states that the primary cost of another attack on Iran would be Iran's massive retaliation against the entire infrastructure of regional Gulf states, with Trump not caring about it and considering this cost "acceptable," per a source close to Iranian Parliament Speaker Ghalibaf.

🚨 BREAKING: The White House said Xi agreed the Strait of Hormuz must stay demilitarized and that China opposes any “toll” by Iran. China’s own readout of the same meeting said something different. The Chinese Foreign Ministry’s official summary of the Trump-Xi summit made no mention of Iran. None. No mention of the Strait of Hormuz. None. China publicly said it “supports Iran in safeguarding its national sovereignty.” And Chinese ships are already moving through the Strait, under Iranian permits. A Chinese supertanker crossed Wednesday. Iran’s state media reports about 30 vessels have transited since. The Trump administration’s blockade redirected 70 ships in the same window. So which readout is real? Two governments. One meeting. Two completely different stories. The White House is telling Americans Xi is on our side. China is telling Iran the opposite. Both can’t be true. Who is Trump lying to — us, or himself?

BREAKING: China has explicitly informed the US that it recognizes Iran's "exercise of sovereignty" over the Strait of Hormuz, contradicting the White House readout of the Trump-Xi summit that claimed Xi opposed Iranian "militarization" of the Strait and any "toll" for its use, per a source close to Iranian Parliament Speaker Ghalibaf. More than 10 Chinese ships have successfully transited under Iran's Persian Gulf Strait Authority permit system in the past two days.

New: Classified military intelligence assessments from early this month show Iran has regained access to most of its missile sites, launchers and underground facilities. Including: U.S. intel assesses Iran has restored operational access to 30 of the 33 missile sites it maintains along the Strait of Hormuz, and ~90% of Iran's underground missile sites are "partially or fully operational." w @Adamentous @maggieNYT nytimes.com/2026/05/12/us/…

If politics is reduced to power, the result is today's world: chaos, oppression, injustice, and piracy In our national ethos and religious worldview, power without ethics is hollow. Today، Iran represents ethical, responsible power; its enemies embody reckless & unchecked force.

🚨🇮🇷 Satellite imagery captured this morning shows more than 85 IRGC Navy fast attack craft staged in formation in the Strait of Hormuz, stretching across 22 kilometers of water just south of Qeshm Island. The position is just south of Qeshm Island. The fast attack craft are exactly the asymmetric weapons that have allowed Iran to keep Hormuz effectively closed despite American naval superiority. Small, fast, hard to target, and capable of swarming larger vessels with anti-ship missiles, mines, and rocket-propelled grenades. CSIS and other analysts have warned for years that an Iranian fast-boat swarm is one of the few scenarios where the U.S. Navy could lose a major surface combatant in modern combat. This is the visible setup for whatever happens next. Source: GeoWatch
