A parasite is causing explosive diarrhea across the U.S. and authorities still do not know the cause of the outbreaks. Cyclosporiasis is usually caused by eating produce that has the cyclospora parasite.
While the CDC says they have not pinpointed one food product that is causing people to be sickened, investigators in Michigan say their investigation is leading them to believe lettuce is the cause. Out of caution, Taco Bell reportedly stopped using produce ingredients that may contain the parasite.
