@jjoanbeav59 @NWSAlbuquerque @NWS @NWSSPC Well, the idea is that weather *usually* follows history. The image itself shows that there are more tornadoes around central US than anywhere else, and this is true every year! Big tornado outbreaks never really happen in places like Utah, and history agrees.

@NWSAlbuquerque @NWS @NWSSPC “Data is based…a historical record of events.”
That’s awesome because the weather always follows history. 🙄

The @NWSSPC has just released a great tool to visualize certain severe weather & wildfire threats. Data is based on climatology, or a historical record of past events.
spc.noaa.gov/climo/dataview…
For example, you can view the likelihood of a tornado occurring for any given state...

@MikeMorganKFOR Was this really the Purcell tornado or was it the EF0 on Lake Thunderbird? Emily Sutton posted the same image, but she said it was the EF0

@UofOklahoma At this point, I'm embarrassed to be going here. Wishing the best for the professor.

@ProNaif @silver_dollr Sorry if I was a bit too rude. I should restate—the radar itself is positioned right under most of the outbreak, so the NWS really wants to keep it online. Since it came offline, that most likely means something bad happened to it.
English

@ProNaif @silver_dollr It takes at least a room-temperature IQ to realize that the NWS has no reason to shut down a radar in the middle of an outbreak.
English

@silver_dollr Well then you know more than the NWS. Call them and tell them their radar is damaged.
