Sorry kids, we would have done more to mitigate climate change and the massive extinction event we caused if early Model 3s just had had smaller panel gaps.

@elonmusk I'm not 100% confident this is a direct result of me, but it's in meme form now so it should be accepted as fact. How it started vs. How it's going.

The scale of SpaceX’s Starship Super Heavy booster is impossible to comprehend At liftoff, it produces a monstrous 16.7 million pounds of thrust That is literally the equivalent of ~80 Boeing 747 airplanes firing at full power all at once

Now that @Tesla has publicly announced the final Cybercab in bright, glossy gold and that production SOP (Start or Production) has happened, here are some views of several at Giga Texas today in the outbound lot. As you can visually see, these are very noticeably different from the wrapped engineering versions. These look so good out in the sun for the first time!

Grok expert speculates- Anant Nivarti’s stealth AI silicon startup (acqui-hire). Tesla’s April 2026 10-Q (Note 14) discloses an unnamed AI hardware acquisition for up to $2B in stock/equity, with ~$1.8B tied to performance milestones on tech deployment. Timing aligns exactly with former Tesla chip architect Anant Nivarti leaving in Dec 2025 to found a stealth AI silicon firm, then rejoining in early April 2026 as Head of Silicon Engineering (AI6/Dojo 3). No other candidates match the undisclosed deal’s details or recent speculation.

Tesla has announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire an AI hardware company for up to $2 billion in Tesla common stock and equity awards, of which approximately $1.8 billion is subject to certain service conditions and/or performance milestones dependent on the successful deployment of the company's technology. (via Tesla's 10-Q filing)

$TSLA BREAKING : A Reuters article released just before reported that Tesla is working on a new, smaller, cheaper electric SUV. This vehicle is not a variant of the Model 3/Y, but is known to be a completely new vehicle. Four people familiar with the project said the project is still in its early stages of development. Reuters could not confirm whether Tesla had approved production of the vehicle.

BREAKING: Tesla has officially released FSD V14.3 I'm downloading it in my Model Y right now. Here's everything that's new: • Improved parking location pin prediction, now shown on a map with a P icon. • Increased decisiveness of parking spot selection and maneuvering. • Rewrote the Al compiler and runtime from the ground up with MLIR, resulting in 20% faster reaction time and improving model iteration speed. • Enhanced response to emergency vehicles, school buses, right-of-way violators, and other rare vehicles. • Mitigated unnecessary lane biasing and minor tailgating behaviors. • Improved handling of small animals by focusing RL training on harder examples and adding rewards for better proactive safety. • Improved traffic light handling at complex intersections with compound lights, curved roads, and yellow light stopping - driven by training on hard RL examples sourced from the Tesla fleet. • Upgraded the Reinforcement Learning (RL) stage of training the FSD neural network, resulting in improvements in a wide variety of driving scenarios. • Upgraded the neural network vision encoder, improving understanding in rare and low-visibility scenarios, strengthening 3D geometry understanding, and expanding traffic sign understanding. • Improved handling for rare and unusual objects extending, hanging, or leaning into the vehicle path by sourcing infrequent events from the fleet. • Improved handling of temporary system degradations by maintaining control and automatically recovering without driver intervention, reducing unnecessary disengagements. Upcoming Improvements: • Expand reasoning to all behaviors beyond destination handling. • Add pothole avoidance. • Improve driver monitoring system sensitivity with better eye gaze tracking, eye wear handling, and higher accuracy in variable lighting conditions.

@elonmusk @JessePeltan I’m a big proponent of solar but sadly in Japan large areas of forest are being converted to solar farms. Drive through rural parts of Nagano, Mie, and Gifu prefectures and it’s very obvious. I also suspect ifs partially to blame for the recent increase in bear attacks.

The self driving Tesla is the second most transformative tech creation of the 21st century and I think it’s going to eventually surpass the iPhone, which is currently number one. The Tesla SD impact is just beginning, it’s like living in the future:

Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe in new interview on self-driving: "@Tesla's got a huge fleet. So our approach is we have to catch up with them and compete. And so we're going to have more cameras with better dynamic range. We're going to supplement that with LiDAR that provides better safety for edge case conditions and allows us to train the vision models faster. And the incremental cost to do that is relatively small. And in fact any of the incremental costs that would have been there on its own is offset by the fact that we brought inference in house and reduced the cost of our inference platform so dramatically from what we have in your car. Your car uses an Nvidia inference platform. I say all this because in like the infinite long-term you know, you could make the case that once the models are very very robust you could have less cameras or you may be able to get away with less radar. It's not clear yet if that's the case for covering all these corner cases."

Cortex 2 at Giga Texas continues fast progress towards a late spring initial start of operations. Just under half of the Megapacks are installed so far, part 1 of the chiller system is getting fans #5 & #6 installed today while 18 temporary chillers are being set up to allow an accelerated startup while part 2 of the chiller system will be built out over the spring and summer. This AI Datacenter is critical for the production of Optimus & the accelerated agile construction process here is a key part in being ready later this year for production at Fremont to start up.

@Kenmaeda77 I wonder if they’ve trained it on a lot of data where the car has to watch one or two mirrors at an intersection because you can’t see cars coming from the left or right. Though not super common, I’ve seen mirrors as part of the Japanese roads much more than in the U.S.
