The 5th Interactive Dialogue on Human Rights Defenders (HRDs) in Exile and Protection Service Providers concluded with a panel discussion featuring the Steering Committee, who reflected on progress made since the last consultative dialogue. Exiled HRDs also used the opportunity to highlight key concerns impacting their sustenance and their ability to sustain activism in exile. They also shared concrete recommendations for the way forward with the protection service providers present. Our Executive Director @Hassan_shire closed the meeting by reaffirming that the recommendations shared during the 5th Interactive Dialogue on Human Rights Defenders (HRDs) in Exile will be taken seriously. He noted that DefendDefenders and the HRDs in Exile Working Group Steering Committee will meet to follow up on next steps. He encouraged exiled HRDs to build strong communities, reminding them that solidarity is key to navigating life in exile. “The worst thing is to remain in limbo as you await your return home.
