Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 devs hope to be the "new kings" of the RPG genre gamesradar.com/games/rpg/king…

007 First Light is performing far less than expected.
On Day 1 of the full release, the game was expected to reach well over 100k players, but it only reached 68k, with an estimated sales of 500k-1 million units. Not bad... A solid launch... But not great for a game where this is the first 007 game since 007 Legends, which was 14 years ago.
Bond fans have been waiting for another game for more than a decade, and despite the massive mainstream hype, the audience didn't massively show up for it.
Warning signs were there when analysts like Daniel Ahmad said that the preorder sales and opening sales are "not tracking well"... comparable to other game fails like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
The trailers didn't do the game any favors, showing content that didn't appear to move the gameplay bar higher compared to past games featuring stealth and car driving missions. Even outlets like Kotaku are saying that it is a "playable movie", and others are saying it's a safe, linear, and cinematic first game.
The statistics for the average length to beat the game are sitting at 12-17 hours, and 100% completion in 25-35 hours according to Games Radar...
Other reviewers and players are saying that while the combat is flashy and snappy, the novelty wears off quickly, and it feels shallow and boring after a while. Car chase and driving sequences are scripted, where it is pretty much impossible to fail.
The estimated budget for the game is $100-200 million, with an added extra for marketing and other costs, where the total cost is likely somewhere around $250-300 million. This means that overall they would need to sell between 2-4 million units to break even... which is still possible, but it's tracking below expectations.
The picture will get clearer as the week goes on, but the short gameplay and being able to experience most of the game, just by watching streamers, does not bode well for the longevity of the game.
It is in the end... another cinematic-story-movie, the kind of game where the gameplay is secondary to the overarching story. Even then... the story is strictly linear. No branching paths, no alternate endings, no meaningful choices that change the outcome.
And it looks like gamers are tired of paying $70 for yet another short game with a mediocre cinematic experience... as if it's like an interactive Netflix special.
If that's what you are into, then go buy the game.
For gamers who want to experience gameplay, skip it.

NEWS:
- Over 30 Rockstar employees who were fired last year have announced the Rockstar Workers Union and that many current employees have also joined, as they aim for pay transparency, flexible working and an end to crunch.
- Strauss Zelnick says review scores are important for GTA 6 and that “Rockstar’s scores are typically in the mid-90s, sometimes high 90s. Not many games can say that, and that’s a reflection on Rockstar’s commitment to quality.”
- He also expressed his love for Red Dead Redemption 2, stating that the increasing sales aren’t driven by the anticipation for GTA 6, but because it has a very loyal and engaged audience.
- Strauss doesn’t expect many employees to quit once the game launches and that “Rockstar has a lot of work to do after the launch of GTA 6.”
- Multiple people, including a German YouTuber stood in front of Rockstar North showing support and demanding Turkish language to be added in the game.

@playb0y4L How does marketing feel different if it hasn't even started lol
English

GTA 6’s marketing already feels completely different from anything we’ve seen in gaming. Rockstar isn’t a normal studio, so expecting traditional marketing from them is probably the mistake a lot of us make.
Strauss already hinted that GTA 6 will rely less on TV ads, which likely means a bigger focus on social media, influencers, and real-world events. Maybe Trailer 3 won’t even be a “normal” trailer rollout.
I honestly think the real hype hasn’t even started yet. Summer could be insane, and Rockstar might turn the community itself into part of the marketing in ways we’ve never seen before.

Temu has been fined $232 million by the European Union after regulators found unsafe and illegal products being sold on the platform.
The investigation uncovered items including baby toys with banned chemicals and phone chargers that failed basic safety tests.
Officials said some products could pose serious risks to consumers, especially children.
EU regulators said the problem went beyond a few bad products and accused Temu of not doing enough to monitor sellers or remove unsafe items.
Temu said it disagrees with the decision but has already improved its safety and compliance systems.

🚨 Warhorse comments on upcoming Lord of the Rings Game 🚨
During a recent stream, Warhorse communications director Tobias Stolz-Zwilling said The Middle-earth team is led by Viktor Bocan, the design director on Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
Stolz-Zwilling noted that the Middle-earth game is a "passion project" and there's a "mind-blowing team" that's ready to dive deep into the universe to make a great game. He also described the game as "deeply immersive," with a "living world" packed with "interesting characters, memorable places, and of course a strong narrative focus."
He went on to state that the team strives to be the "new kings" of the RPG genre with every project it makes, both in Kingdom Come and Middle-earth, and wants to continue to lean on the studio's formula that fans love so much.
"It's important to remind everyone we are only working on the games we want to work on in the way we want to work on them," Stolz-Zwilling continued. "It's our stuff."
The next Kingdom Come game will release next fiscal year, meaning it's approximately a year or so away from release. The Lord of the Rings game, however, doesn't have a concrete timeline that can be shared yet, which suggests it's likely years away from seeing the light of day.

@Pirat_Nation This isn't the consumer's problem anymore, Micron already exited the consumer market
English

Micron says shortages in HBM, DRAM, and NAND could continue well beyond 2026. Demand for AI hardware is growing far faster than production capacity can expand.
Several technical factors are driving the bottleneck:
>Newer HBM generations use much larger die sizes, which reduces the number of usable chips per wafer.
>Performance gains between memory generations are slowing, so capacity scaling is becoming less efficient.
>Advanced DRAM manufacturing increasingly depends on EUV lithography, which is expensive and slower to ramp at scale.
>HBM production also consumes disproportionate wafer capacity compared with standard DDR memory, squeezing broader DRAM availability.
These pressures are spreading across the tech industry. AI companies and cloud providers keep locking in memory supplies early

I was admitted to the hospital late Sunday night after my appendix fully ruptured. I had an emergency appendectomy, and I am still in the hospital with drainage tubes to get rid of the infection. I was put in a medically induced coma Tuesday through Friday due to the infection.
Girlfriend has been helping, but today I got my phone and got on here. Let me explain quickly the info I received on GTA 6 pre orders. I got the info from 1 person which is why I DID NOT go public with it until someone decided to leak my DM's after the Best Buy leak. This person works for another large retail giant, and with Best Buy leak and what they said, the dates matched so it appeared legit. I have to say, there are a lot of you, content creators included, that really need to evaluate your lives. I do not know anyone that lives a healthy life and acts like some of you guys do on here. Several people I have helped with free games, etc unfollowed me, run their mouths in private discords, etc and that stuff gets sent to me. So, I am sorry the info that I and Buy Best, Walmart, and others had was wrong and you could not pre order your video game. I also never confirmed a Playstation state of play date, I just said the 24th is worth watching. There is a reason I do not run info or confirm stuff from 1 person, but some of you guys do not read, or can't.
I am continuing to stay in the hospital until infection is gone and I can be released late next week. There are a lot of you though, I will not interact with going forward as I almost died this week and you think I am hiding over a video game. Be better, 99.9% of you would not say the things to my face anyways.
To those who sent me DM's to check on me and see if I was okay since I was offline for a week, thank you. I appreciate your kindness. Anytime I have had info that was off, I always come out to own whatever it is, and I don't hide. Logging off again until I am recovered!

@4m4l3kBr1t @Pirat_Nation There's no way of knowing what you're claiming
English

@Pirat_Nation The new GTA is gonna suck hard and it's gonna suck long.
We already knew it was gonna be wokeslop but it's also going to be as modding-unfriendly as possible. For reasons of abject unremittent greed.
Indians will still fanboy for it.

RAGE:MP, one of the longest-running GTA V multiplayer platforms, has announced it will shut down after receiving a cease-and-desist from Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games.
In a statement, the developers said Rockstar now considers FiveM the only authorized multiplayer platform for GTA V. As a result, RAGE:MP will stop operating completely on August 31, 2026.
The shutdown will happen in stages:
- New servers are no longer being accepted
- The public server list will close on June 1, 2026
- All remaining services and infrastructure will shut down on August 31, 2026
The team encouraged existing communities to move to FiveM.
RAGE:MP had been around for years and was one of FiveM’s biggest competitors
This also shows how much control Rockstar and Take-Two are now exerting over the GTA multiplayer modding scene after acquiring the FiveM team in 2023.

English

@Dexerto So they ignored RAGE:MP for YEARS, let an entire community build around it, then the second they bought FiveM they pull out the C&D?
This isn’t about protecting GTA. This is about KILLING competition. They bought their monopoly and now they’re burying everyone else 😤
