@CDRTVNEWS @iamcardib The world is mourning a young woman who died in Zanzibar, yet that same world failed to grieve for the countless Tanzanians who were killed by their own government. Justice must not be selective—every innocent life matters. Let us demand accountability for every drop of unjust.

Okay. I understand you now. You want to use all loads 24/7. You can actually use all your ACs during the day if you have a big inverter with adequate panels. Also you can use switch off freezer at night (I have a smart switch that does this for me) and reduce AC usage at night. In my area for instance, you can't put on gen at night, so you see generators are not very useful at night.

There's no area with permanently good light in most parts of Nigeria. I used to have almost 24hrs daily but now it's gone really terrible in just a few months. I suspect you don't really have experience with solar like that if not you'll know that 5m solar is quite a lot, unless you live in a mansion.

Even not 24/7? What about when you need light to power your monitor during the day or blend stuff or wash your clothes, or pump water? You'll be rushing to put on gen with the loud noise and expensive petrol. Funny thing is, you can even use powerful loads during the day without issues on solar.

@slimj_TRAP @smart_money7 @ChuksEricE Have you calculated 38k daily for generator the lady claims to be spending? Solar and Gen is not even comparable. In fact I've borrowed my generator out for some months and I barely remember. It's left for you to understand your capacity and not load it beyond its capability.

@smart_money7 @ChuksEricE My point is, apart from the noise and all and since you’ll still need to be charging ur solar, then preferably generator should always win. Don’t you think? I mean if u can afford to get solar of that amount then getting fuel with that money and moving to a place with good

"Interestingly enough, in my mind, in their works, Achebe and Ngugi proved that one could take the English Language and appropriate it for oneself and write with it as if one was writing in one's indigenous language. Read Achebe's books, especially Things Fall Apart, Arrow of God, No Longer at Ease and A Man of the People; the beauty of Achebe's novels is in how he took the English Language and fooled the reader into thinking that the characters are speaking Igbo. Reading Things Fall Apart especially, the reader would be forgiven for thinking that Achebe was writing in Igbo. The man was a genius. Achebe's approach was brilliant on many levels; economically, trying to sell a novel in the language of my ancestors would be a huge challenge. Not many people would buy it because many of my people speak the language but can neither read nor write it. Besides, there is not much of a market for works of fiction written in my language. That is the least of our challenges. Achebe and his generation of writers brilliantly sidestepped that challenge by being creative with the use of the English language. They appropriated the English language and made it uniquely their own. That is how it should be." - Ikhide R Ikheloa Yes. Long and short, the market determines what everyone gets paid. No matter your skillset or brilliance. If Messi or Mbappe played in the NPFL, they would be as poor as the regular Nigerian footballer. In fact I dare say there are many Nigerian footballers that are probably better than Messi or Mbappe, but since they are stuck here, they can’t earn more. It is what it is.

What’s the code going to earn in either market? That’s the real issue. If you use the same knowledge and effort to build for a poorer market, you’re subsidizing that market. Ideally if you can, look for a better paying market to work for. Otherwise, maybe everybody needs to rightsize their expectations, and also their efforts in line with the market you are building for.

A Nigerian software engineer and a German software engineer push the same code to production tonight. Same stack. Same PR review. Same 2am. One of them earns €7,000/month with free healthcare, job protection laws, and a pension that kicks in at 30. The other earns ₦600,000 and just spent ₦47,000 on generator fuel this month alone. We need to talk about this.

Liz Benson was one of Nollywood's first superstars. The 1990s. The VHS era. Before streaming. Before cinemas. Before social media. She was the face that every household in Nigeria knew. From Etinan, Akwa Ibom. Then at the height of her fame, she walked away. She gave her life to faith, moved to Manchester, United Kingdom, became an ordained pastor, and never looked back. Some called it a waste. Some called it a loss for Nollywood. Liz Benson called it a calling. Akwa Ibom has produced stars who conquered Nigeria's screens and stars who conquered their own souls.

Michael Carrick wrote about this experience in his book, ‘Between the Lines’. It wasn't a nice narration. He wrote about how difficult a footballer’s life is and how that trip wasn't convenient for many of them. His description of Nigeria and Abuja in that book was scathing. He wrote about some Policemen breaking a photographer’s camera and beating him for taking a picture of them. He said he yelled after them. “They grabbed him, jabbed him in the ribs and dragged him round the back of the hotel. ‘Whoa, what’s up? It’s only a picture. We never saw him again. It was all a bit over the top,” he wrote. In another paragraph, his words were; “the whole experience in Abuja was like being trapped in a horror film”. Read his conclusion; “The trip lasted only 16 hours, but Abuja’s effects lasted longer. I vomited for a week, but some lads had it far worse. They were so sick that United sent a sample off to some university and, I’m not kidding, they found monkey and rat shit in the sample. The university docs said they’d never seen anything like it before. So, no, I won’t remember Abuja happily and I can’t imagine the other lads will either. Those are the type of souvenirs you don’t want to bring back from tours abroad.” It was the last time any big team was in Nigeria. Eighteen years ago. We will learn one way or the other. My name is Rilwan, I love and write about football systems, memories and the depths behind the game. Follow me and repost if you want more of this.

Conversion rates are highest when you show social proof. I have been trying to get my wife to start using the Google Pixel like my mum and me, since we are all already on my Google Fi family plan, but she has resisted for years, as she is a die-hard Samsung user. She even has two Samsung S25 phones. One is newer and smaller, and she likes it. Today she lost that phone, and she tried to track it with her older Samsung, but it was a pain. Luckily, we have a shared family Gmail account on both our phones (highly recommended), and she was able to track it on my Pixel. It found it immediately and even showed that it was connected to our home Wi-Fi. The app on the Pixel gave so much detail that she has now decided to finally get a Pixel and ditch the Samsung, which was giving her Hell when it came to finding the other phone. They even blocked her Samsung account. I guess Google owes me one. I am already in the Pixel Superfan community, though! I should send them this story 😂 Google 1 : 0 Samsung #Google #Superfans #Pixel #GooglePixel
