I’m watching Yomi no Tsugai (Daemons of the Shadow Realm), and while it’s not terrible, it’s massively underwhelming. It’s genuinely hard to believe this comes from the same mangaka who created Fullmetal Alchemist. The world-building feels thin, the characters generic, the plot unengaging, and the themes lack the weight and timeless depth of FMA. I know following up a masterpiece like FMA is incredibly difficult, but I was really hoping for more.

I’ve DJ’d and worked in the town for 13 years. I’ve never had any serious altercations, and I think the industry knows not to attack someone who has nothing but a lot of love to everyone. And it STILL happened to me. Just to confirm. I’m fully recovered. Police asked not to upload anything due to potential backlash?! Bollocks. Family and close friends said to maybe keep this quiet, but if this can happen to me, it can happen to anyone, I really mean that. I’m grateful I only got punched up, rather than anything worse. It’s been a week since this happened to me, I have heard NOTHING from the police, however they’re happy to patrol the hotels non-stop day and night so they’re safe… This needs to be seriously addressed, I hate drama, but this is taking its toll on our town. Last Wednesday I was waiting for a bus home (before the England V Congo game finished). Out of nowhere, 4 men started shouting at me (Arabic), and hit me 3 times in the face. Then kicked me when I was on the floor, took my wallet, and cash. Apparently I’m lucky to still have my eyesight. Luckily, a lovely group saw this, chased them, called police and ambulance. Still waiting to hear from the police… 10 days later - still nothing… These guys were laughing, spitting on me, and fled towards a certain Hotel. I have NEVER seen the guys in my life. Onwaarschijnlijk dat het monster van Chatcontrol nu voor de duizendste keer terugkomt. Helaas ook met hulp van veel Europese parlementsleden van de klassieke partijen uit ons land. Ik vroeg maar één ding: dat we ons nu voor eens en altijd tégen Chat Control kanten. Stopzetten. Gedaan ermee. Niet "verder het debat over voeren". Helaas krijgen we dat weer niet te horen. CD&V en N-VA blijven de plannen steunen in het Europees Parlement. Op de openbare omroep krijgen ze vrije baan om te beweren dat de stemming in het Europees Parlement deze week niets met Chat Control te maken heeft. Het kleinste kind ziet dat dit onzin is. Wie tegen Chatcontrol is, verspreidt volgens de franstalige openbare trouwens zogezegd "fakenews". Geen wonder dat het vertrouwen in klassieke media onder het vriespunt staat. Van Vlaams minister Cieltje Van Achter kreeg ik eenzelfde wollig antwoord. "We zijn tegen massa-surveillance, maar het debat over Chat control loopt verder". Sjah. Zo zal het dus altijd terugkomen. Het is duidelijk dat de lidstaten, de Europese Commissie en helaas een groot deel van de klassieke partijen in Vlaanderen er alles aan zullen doen om Chat Control er toch door te duwen.

Ik ben niet zeker of iedereen mee is in het smerige spel dat vandaag is gespeeld om dat gedrocht erdoor te krijgen, vandaar korte uitleg: Een meerderheid van de aanwezige Europarlementsleden stemde vandaag tégen Chat Control. Normaal zou dat volstaan om zo’n voorstel weg te stemmen. Maar de EU-top besliste eerst om via een uitzonderlijke spoedprocedure de spelregels te veranderen. —> Daardoor volstond een gewone meerderheid van de aanwezigen plots NIET meer. Er was ineens een ABSOLUTE meerderheid van 361 stemmen nodig, berekend over het volledige Europees Parlement. En laat die stemming nu net midden in het zomerreces plaatsvinden, wanneer een groot deel van de parlementsleden afwezig is. Het resultaat? Een aanwezige meerderheid kon Chat Control niet meer tegenhouden. Zo slaagde de EU erin om, via een procedurele kunstgreep, een democratische meerderheid buitenspel te zetten.
