🚨 ALERT: The ultimate political surrender has officially arrived. Keir Starmer just came out in "full support" of Andy Burnham for the Makerfield by-election. This is pure desperation. Starmer is literally begging his party to support the very man who is coming to take his job! He is so weakened and cornered by his own MPs that he has no choice but to endorse his own replacement. It is the political equivalent of a turkey voting for Christmas. The coup is moving into the final phase and Starmer is so powerless he is actually helping it happen. The end is officially here. 🇬🇧📉

NEW: PM visited Labour HQ today & he’s coming out fighting. Starmer acknowledges tough results and that “it’s not been easy circumstances in last 10 days” Makes it clear he’s carrying on with the job “to serve my country and to carry out my duties as Prime Minister of this country” Says he’ll support the candidate in Makerfield 100% Also uses the remarks to highlight his record - 2 child benefit cap, renters’ rights, NHS lists - and make point that many people just want govt ‘to get on with it’ Full quotes: “I just wanted to come here to Labour Party headquarters to say a big thank you to you. The election results were not the ones that we wanted, they were really tough. But you worked your socks off. “It’s not been easy circumstances in the last 10 days. But you have just got on with the job that we asked you to do. “If you look at just some of the figures that came out last week. We had growth figures that were the best in the G7. That's because of the hard work that we've done in government. On the economy we've got ourselves into a good position, having inherited a real basket case from the last government. “The NHS figures were really good, which again vindicates what we did, which was invest in the NHS, which is what we said we would do. “And that's on top of all the other things… The Employment Rights Act. The biggest upgrade in renters’ rights in a generation. “And then of course all the work that we are doing around child poverty, of which I am really proud. What a game changer that will be for a whole generation and will be measured for years and years to come because the children will feel the impact for the rest of their lives. They will have chances they wouldn't otherwise have had. “The election results tell us that people are frustrated, they don’t feel that their lives have changed quickly enough. “We need to build up the urgency of what we do. We need a bit more hope in there. And we need to remember at all times what we are here to do. We were elected to government to serve the people of this country. “And I remind myself every day that in July 2024 millions of people voted for us to come into government, to get on with the job, to govern, and to bring about the change that they want. “So I am focused on the job that I was asked to do, which is to serve my country and to carry out my duties as Prime Minister of this country. Delivering for the very many people who voted us into office, who are saying, ‘just get on with it, get on with the job, get on with the change that I need to see in my life’. And that is what I am going to be doing. “We now have an important by-election coming up. It is Labour versus Reform. We will know very shortly who the candidate is. Whoever they are I am going to support them one hundred per cent and I want every member, everyone in our movement to support them. A Labour candidate to beat Reform. That is the fight that we are in.”

@BethRigby It makes a mockery of the role of PM. There is a whole litany of reasons why he should go. If the tories had done what he had done he would be demanding resignations. Starmer thinks he is above it all, maybe that knighthood is effecting his judgement or his wig !?

TikTok host thousands of videos from people smugglers boasting about breaking into the UK. But they take down videos from Reform demanding action. Shameful censorship by them at Labour’s behest.
Zia Yusuf@ZiaYusufUK

🚨 Labour is using the “Online Safety Act” to silence political opponents, and TikTok is doing their dirty work. First, TikTok removed my video announcing Reform UK’s new policy to place secure illegal migrant detention centres in non-Reform constituencies, prioritising Green ones.  TikTok explicitly cited the Online Safety Act as the reason for its removal. This is hard evidence of this draconian legislation being weaponised to silence political opponents.  That same video has 6.2 million views on other platforms. Today, the censorship escalated.  TikTok has now removed my video outlining the key policies I would implement as Home Secretary, claiming it is “Hate Speech and Hateful Behaviour.”  They warned me that any further "violations" will result in a strike, potentially leading to being de-platformed altogether. This is all the more staggering given TikTok happily hosts hundreds of videos of people calling for the assassination of Nigel Farage. My TikTok videos had received 18 million views over the previous 28 days. This is a chilling attempt to silence one of the biggest and fastest-growing UK political accounts on the platform. TikTok is engaging in direct political interference in the midst of the most pivotal elections in our country’s history. All under the auspice of the “Online Safety Act” that the Tories and Labour claimed to be about protecting children. It is, and always will be about silencing voices the open-borders political establishment don’t like. @TikTokComms have decided to try and suppress Reform. Sow the wind, reap the whirlwind.

@GBNEWS Don’t certain communities have their own security ? And I’m certain that when a masked thug in Birmingham forced a sky news reporter off air during a live broadcast following protests over the Southport attacks, the police force gave a talk to camera about policing themselves!?

@RidgeandFrost @SkyNews @DavidLammy @SophyRidgeSky Theres a difference between resilient and being too pig headed to accept responsibility for the problems he’s caused. And it’s only getting worse for him because of withholding of the Mandelson vetting files. Sacking everyone for your own mistake is not taking responsibility.

For people struggling to get to grips with Lisa Nandy’s rather surreal broadcast round this morning. As I’ve written today Burnham’s cabinet allies don’t want Keir Starmer to announce a timetable for his departure until after the Makerfield by-election.

@SkyNews @TrevorPTweets If life for the majority was fine they wouldn’t have voted to leave. The problems that exist today are a direct result of MPs not willing to accept the vote and work collectively in Parliament to deliver a successful Brexit, instead choosing their own beliefs over voters?

The careless decision to reduce our force posture in Europe, along with moves by Pete Hegseth and his political henchmen to force out some of our finest general officers is amateur hour at best and deadly at worst. Hegseth continues to surprise and disrespect our greatest allies and some of our best military professionals with impulsive decisions not grounded in reality or good judgment. If the rumors are true that Hegseth is trying to sideline General Chris Donahue, one of our nation’s finest warfighters, by downgrading U.S. Army Europe-Africa to a 3-star command, he is taking another step down a dangerous path. A step that is not in the best interests of our nation or our servicemembers. General Donahue has dedicated his entire career to upholding the high standards and warrior ethos that Hegseth claims he is restoring to our ranks. Gen. Donahue has led Soldiers at all levels in Airborne (including Ft. Bragg’s 82nd) and Mechanized units, the 75th Ranger Regiment, and our most prestigious special operation units. He deployed over 20 times in support of Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, New Dawn, Inherent Resolve, Atlantic Resolve, Freedom’s Sentinel, European Assure, Deter and Reinforce, and in support of the Sudan crisis. Hegseth would do well to surround himself with more patriots like General Donahue and to get his henchmen, who are not qualified to carry Donahue's bag, out of the Pentagon. Keep your word, Mr. Secretary: choose meritocracy over your mediocre yes-men. notus.org/defense/pentag…
