@AJamesMcCarthy @fascinatingonX Why take literally one of the most fake-looking actually real things and make it look horrendous. Is the actual hexagon not insane/beautiful enough?

Working alongside JPL/Caltech, we've developed a Near-Earth Objects (NEO) Hunter mission concept for planetary defense using Blue Ring. NEO Hunter tests multiple asteroid-deflection techniques, including ion-beam deflection and robust direct kinetic impact, helping protect Earth from potential threats. This is another example of how commercial platforms like Blue Ring can conduct low-cost, high-priority science, exploration, and planetary defense missions.

@NASAAdmin This will also support science on A3 and beyond. More confidence in the suits, spacecraft and conops means more bandwidth for utilization activities (the good stuff!)

According to a NASA report Lunar Trailblazer failed because the software pointed the solar panels *away* from the Sun. The NASA panel says Lockheed did not properly test the solar panel pointing software before launch. npr.org/2026/02/26/nx-…

JWST observes asteroid 2024YR4 again Feb 26. It will be a 5 hour 36 minute exposure! Probability of impact with the Moon in 2032 could drop to zero, or be as high a few tens of percent. We will see!

Service modules for Artemis III and Artemis IV. Artemis III is currently scheduled to be the first crewed lunar landing since Apollo 17, and Artemis IV is set to be the debut flight of the SLS block 1b rocket, delivering the IHAB module to the Lunar Gateway!

13 years ago #today, a small (~18 meter diameter) asteroid impacted over #Chelyabinsk, Russia, and exploded at 22 km altitude, shattering windows. Thousands of small (and a few larger) fragments like these rained down. It was the largest impact of the last 100 years.

@EAR68 Sharing iconic moments from the broadcast will be important, if the launch is poorly timed there will be other opportunities to share the event

A plea to restaurant/bar owners: Treat the Artemis II launch like a sporting event. Put it on all your tvs. Let patrons celebrate the brave crew as they return to the moon for the first time in 54 years. This is a shared human success and should be experienced as such.

The sheer scale of a billion dollars can be hard to understand. Let me put it in perspective for you. You would have to earn a dollar a day for a billion days straight to have that much money.
