wages in the UK honestly don’t add up. how are people expected to afford rent thats over £1,000 a month, then still cover gas, electricity, and groceries? by the time everything is paid there’s basically nothing left

Water companies pump shit into our rivers and instead of being forced to clean it up and compensate us, they’re still allowed to pay dividends to shareholders. What a pathetic country.

@ugly_fishy @BladeoftheS It’s a lot more complex an issue than that. Take into account that A. roughly 30% of 18-25 year olds are in some form of higher education, thus greatly reducing their availability. Also, younger age groups are more likely to be career ambitious thus not as desirable as a hiree.

@lsmith7901 @BladeoftheS That's still more jobs available than the 18-25 unemployed population. So there are jobs, it's just whether they are qualified or want to do them. Being inflexible & refusing to get a crap job is what imo is stopping ppl from working.

Unemployment is at 16.1% for 18-25's in the UK. More than 400,000 of them are actively looking for work. By the end of the year it is expected to be more than 500,000. There are no jobs for non-disabled people, there definately aren't any for disabled people.

@ugly_fishy @BladeoftheS The maths doesn’t work out. The Office of National Statistics states there are 1.87 million actively seeking work while unemployed.

@lsmith7901 @BladeoftheS Ok sounds like the maths still works out. 400k unemployed vs 525k jobs available. My daughter couldn't get a job for 2 years, so I got involved in the next application, in availability, I changed to "anytime" from her numerous restrictions and she got the job.

@ugly_fishy @BladeoftheS Of those 750k job “vacancies”, how many of those are ghost jobs? Reports have it at roughly 30%, therefore there may only be 525,000. Combine that with the fact there is soon to be 500,000 unemployed 18-25 year olds, and the fact more people than ever are working past retirement.

@BladeoftheS There's 750k job vacancies in the UK. So that can mean 2 things, the unemployed are not qualified or they don't want to work them. If there are no unskilled jobs available and ppl genuinely want to work, then we need to look at why.

@p1nc @danishacarterr When billionaires own products, and 80% of their competitors (see Unilever etc), in turn driving up costs and prices for their non-owned competitors, yes, in fact, they are in some way “forcing” you to buy their products.

i mean, the sheer ‘act’ of someone being a billionaire doesn’t cause peoples problems.. but when we look at real world impact (what actually matters lol) and see billionaires dumping millions into controlling/influencing our digital spaces, our social spaces, and political spaces.. one could come to the conclusion they’re creating problems.. no? when we see them polluting the air and water.. one could come to the conclusion they’re creating problems.. no?

@wtfisTylar @_Gottalovezik You do know 100 and 200 years ago men would work all day every day in the mines or railroads to barely feed their families. Now we only work 40 hours a week at a desk on a computer and get fat. Stop bitching or just be broke, your choice.

@DanHutch72 @Lesley_kr @Tesco If you paid 50p for the last roll of toilet paper in your house, and knew the next roll was going to cost you £2.50, does the roll in your house still hold the same value to you?

48 - Quiet enough in here that you could hear James Justin call Cucurella a c*** after a nudge in the back as the Leeds man was in the air. Rodon then barged into the boards by Esetvao. Half-time whistle goes. Still down getting treatment. Chelsea 1-0 Leeds #lufc

@DrLukeCraddock The problem is, you took and spent that money. It could have been used elsewhere for another benefit. You get charged interest because of that.

World Cup final ticket (cheapest) inflation since Infantino at FIFA. £343 at Russia 2018. £430 at Qatar 2018. £3,129 at New Jersey/New York 2026. It’s not just Gianni Cash, it’s organisers’ influence too, but this is on Infantino’s watch - and should be on his conscience.
