@FERNAND75759385 True. It's really annoying when people act as if the south was some uncivilized garbage, when historically it always had a flourishing civilization until the unfortunate unification.

I'm not an Italian but if I were I would prefer to be a southern Italian rather than a northern Italian. I love the history of the south much more than the north, the Spanish and Habsburg legacy and everything. I could imagine myself living in Avellino or maybe Caserta.

We had a guy at work who would disappear everyday at 3pm. Laptop closed and he would be gone just like that. He would come back at 4:30. and would say nothing, it went on for six months. Like Kyiv, Chornobyl reflects Ukrainian pronunciation and thus aligns with the global practice of updating place names for linguistic correctness. The successful shift from the Russian spelling “Kiev” to the Ukrainian “Kyiv” is a clear example of this trend.
