@DavidShoebridge Fantastic. The original 2011 Productivity Commission estimate for the fully developed NDIS was approximately $13.6 billion per year (gross), designed to cover around 411,000 participants. Not $55 Billion and counting... l

The Government is planning to cut more than $35 billion from the NDIS. This cut will see over 160,000 people kicked off the NDIS. $35 billion also equates to roughly two-thirds of the cost of one AUKUS submarine.

@MullenZone @EVCurveFuturist When you approach a steep mountain pass say with a 40km hr limit or 20km for trucks, you pick a gear that can sustain the load, engage the full compression braking and the engine fan. Then depending on the engine revs, knowing that 2,100 rpm is red-line, gear select is important.

Incorrect. On mountain grades of 6%, engine braking is rarely enough and friction brakes are relied on extensively. I love motorcycling on mountain passes and I regularly share them with trucks. I can feel the heat of the brakes as I ride by, and smell them too. I've seen more than a dozen smoking and two trucks that had to use the deep gravel bailout lane due to overheated brakes. Imagine when all that energy is recycled into forward drive.

Check out this footage of an #EV truck overtaking the usual suspects dragging their heels up a steep grade, slowing traffic and winding everyone up. Fully loaded Tesla Semi, but it could just as easily be Windrose, BYD or Volvo. No shifts. No lag. Just torque. Cost always wins.

@MullenZone @EVCurveFuturist So you are not a truck driver.. amazing. I am. And I drive heavy road trains 6 days a week. So yes I do know what I am talking about. We do not use our brakes in steep hills unless we have no choice. Go ask a truck driver for their advice next time. There is a reason why.

@MrCunnyFunt @CARN0N Petrol takes less than 30 seconds to add 35 litres giving 750 to 850km distance... Time is $$ when you are paying staff their wages. Would you pay your staff to sit around for an hour to charge their company ev car at a public chargers when 6 other cars are plugged in too??

$1 worth of petrol in a ICE car will allow you to drive 4.5km. vs $1 worth of electricity in a EV will allow you to drive 73km.

@CARN0N Fuel now is $1.65 a litre on fuel app. Ampol are 70 cents per kwh of power. Hybrid cars gets around 4.5 to 5 litres per 100km, ie 1L for 20km= 12 km per $1.00 now EV at 70 cents per kwh, 20kwh per 100km.. isn't that like 1.42kwh for $1? Ie 7.1km per $ not 73km?? Mathematics

@CARN0N How much are public chargers? 60 cents? 70 80 90 cents per kwh?? If you drive a company car - it costs you $0 for a full tank of fuel every single time.

@PeterDGardner 80% you say.. with over 80% of people either renting or living in apartments or houses unable to get solar or parking in their properties. Imagine having to pay public charging for over 80% of ev owners. What's the point??? But we are saving the planet - piss funny

@EVCurveFuturist So Australia has according to Google. Over 600,000 trucks in Australia.. so how many ev trucks stack up and are working tonight in Australia?? Right now??

You’re right on diesel trucks, they rely heavily on engine braking and gears, not friction brakes. But that actually strengthens the EV case. EV trucks don’t just use friction brakes either. They use regenerative braking, which is basically the electric version of engine braking, but better. Instead of wasting that energy as heat: • EV slows the truck using the motor • Converts that energy back into electricity • Puts it back into the battery So on descents and stop-start: • Diesel = energy lost • EV = energy recovered Same principle, different outcome. Drivers still control speed the same way, but EVs turn braking into range and efficiency. That’s another reason the numbers stack up.

@EVCurveFuturist That explains why no trucking company have brought ev trucks without government $$. For example Tolls - $56m gift. Woolworths $17m gift.. all from our taxes.

@EVCurveFuturist Not on the Windrose, it completely failed, with the driver having to stop to cool all the brakes then continue the 2nd half of the mountain. That was only 30 tonnes of steel. The windrose engineer gave up and agreed these are not ready for hills.

@EVCurveFuturist Yeh, no gears to slow you down, no engine Jake compression braking, no engine fan.... Holy FUCK, SUICIDE DRIVING. How is that even legal in Australia?? Under a normal b-double setup with 50 tonnnes of freight- you would never stop the rig. Imagine the accidents- fuck me.. no way.

Electric vehicle uptake has spread much, much further than you'd think. This is a goEV site, for logistics heavyweight Linfox, 2.3MW total, 16 chargers. I think I'll start highlighting these cases every day, would that interest you? 📌 Laverton North (Melbourne), Australia.

@luckyguy6969 @TheEVuniverse 16.5 billion in tax payer funded subsidies paid out for fossil fuel in Australia in the last 12 months. $12,300,000.00 is pocket change compared to this.
