If you are not yet sold on EV trucks then it sounds like you won't be sold until they prove how wrong you were! I mean, they already have the performance and cost data to prove it makes a lot of sense on multiple levels. Sure, most of the charging infrastructure still needs to be built, but so what? The costs are well understood.

@luckyguy6969 @EVCurveFuturist EVs just recycle all that gravity force back into electric power to store in their battery. Look up regenerative breaking. FWIW I’m not yet sold on EV trucks but your concern is not the one that is the real issue. Long distance range and charging time are the bottlenecks.

Check out this footage of an #EV truck overtaking the usual suspects dragging their heels up a steep grade, slowing traffic and winding everyone up. Fully loaded Tesla Semi, but it could just as easily be Windrose, BYD or Volvo. No shifts. No lag. Just torque. Cost always wins.

Incorrect. On mountain grades of 6%, engine braking is rarely enough and friction brakes are relied on extensively. I love motorcycling on mountain passes and I regularly share them with trucks. I can feel the heat of the brakes as I ride by, and smell them too. I've seen more than a dozen smoking and two trucks that had to use the deep gravel bailout lane due to overheated brakes. Imagine when all that energy is recycled into forward drive.

@EVCurveFuturist Trucks rarely use their brakes. Under heavy loads, ie 50 upwards tonnes is mostly gear selection to slow the truck and engine compression braking 99% of the time. Is impossible to slow these heavy haulage by using truck and trailer brakes alone. No drivers would do that.

@EVCurveFuturist The other truck drivers can't see the Tesla's load in that box trailer. It would be better if it had a logging trailer and big ol' stack of logs going to the mill!

@BlakeMoyers @RealAndersonBen @JonBbC_TechGeek Anyone can file a class action, and plenty do. It's one of the only legal ways you can attack Tesla, by pretending they harmed you in some way. Tesla has made my life immeasurably better, I love the way their products have improved my life.

Let’s be honest. AI4 is cooked. Back in 2019 and 2020, people raved about HW3 in a very similar way, and it was hyped even more than AI4 (by Elon and Tesla). Based on history, the maximum life cycle for a computer like this is 4 years. Guess what? AI4 is approaching the end of its lifecycle. I know this is a hard pill to swallow, and I know this post could have a negative impact on Tesla in the short run due to the Osborne Effect, but it makes literally zero sense to buy an AI4 car right now. The only exception that’s possibly valid is if you can afford TWO new cars in the next 2-3 years. In that case, knock yourself out! You totally deserve it.

Nobody said Elon was a saint, obviously we are admitting he's human because he was wrong. And where does this idea of "worship" come from? Defending someone who is being irrationally attacked is not worship, that's reserved for deities. I don't worship anyone, yet the Elon haters think defending someone rationally is worship.

The haters will never understand that being wrong is not lying. They think if I say "I'll meet you at 2pm tomorrow", but then I run out of gas because the gauge got stuck at 1/2 full and I don't show up, that I lied. It's non-sensical, they are just trying to throw shade on Elon anyway they think they can, even if it doesn't make rational sense.

Yes, I know. But they've now admitted that won't be possible, and they've begun to lay out a plan to rectify that for existing owners. I suppose you either believe what Tesla says, or you don't. I tend to think they've always been honest, but honesty and being right are not the same thing.

FSD was uncharted territory back then, now we are in the march of 9's. It's always difficult to predict the future when you are that far away, now those of us who have been using version 13 can that it's basically there, just need to clean up the navigation and the beginning and end of the ride. The actual safety while driving is phenomenal. You might have a point if the other companies had passed Tesla up and left them in the dust, but it is Tesla who is excelling at generalized autonomy, the rest are struggling in tight geofenced confines using extensive localized mapping that needs constant updating whenever something changes (like road construction).

Hey Ben! Tesla said HW3 could do it. Not just once or twice, but many times. A lot of owners are jaded after that, and they can’t trust what Tesla says anymore. The only thing we’re holding onto is hope. We want the same things that Tesla wants and we know it’s never been done before, so we’re continually being patient. At the same time, skepticism on statements made by leadership is extremely high. Once you’ve been in the Tesla arena for 7+ years, you take everything with a grain of salt. @TeslaJoy

@JonBbC_TechGeek That's why I have never bought a laptop, because there was always a new processor right around the corner! Oh, wait, I bought my first laptop in 1994 and have been getting better ones ever since. I never wait for the next great thing, I buy what's available when I need it.

@LarryTal101 @damscr @farzyness All car companies were just as eligible as Tesla to make electric cars and get the credits. Tesla didn't have anything to do with the tax credits. That's between the car buyer and the federal government. You can thank the democrats for implementing the EV tax credit.

@MullenZone @damscr @farzyness Oil and Gas are energy which is very much a national security issues vs Tesla which sells cars. Government incentives were not available for fossil fuel powered cars. So Tesla was getting incentives other car companies were not.

Half the West calls him a villain. History will call him the only person alive who has simultaneously rebuilt transportation, energy, space, telecom, AI, neuroscience, and robotics. The gap between today’s noise and tomorrow’s verdict is wider than it was for Jobs, Edison, or Rockefeller. *** thanks to @DavidCarbutt_ and team for the edit.

Coal only makes up a minority of grid energy these days. But careful comparisons have show that an EV is cleaner than a comparable gas car, even if it were charged exclusively with coal. And the best benefit is the pollution isn't pumped into your cars interior like it is on a busy road with every car spewing it out their tailpipe. BTW, I have never believed EVs were all powered with green energy. Some are, most are powered with a mix of energy sources including natural gas, solar and wind, nuclear and hydroelectric. The coal component of grid energy is steadily declining, it is one of the most expensive forms of energy.

@Greengiggles420 @YkarioTwitch @EricLDaugh @elonmusk Elon entered America legally. Another lie from the butthurt people who hate financial success. Success is just the manifestation of creating value for other humans. Only a jealous person with low self-esteem would hate that.

@damscr @LarryTal101 @farzyness Exactly. It's very short-sighted that our government still provides huge subsidies to oil and gas energy while shunning clean energy that would be radically competitive without the oil and gas subsidies.

After stepping back from his formal DOGE government role in identifying waste and fraud in late May 2025, Musk publicly slammed the "big, beautiful bill" for ballooning the federal deficit, adding massive spending he saw as wasteful, and undermining DOGE's cost-cutting efforts. He argued it contradicted efforts to reduce government bloat and was bad for fiscal responsibility. Elon's candor and honesty is what started the feud, not the cutting of tax subsidies, which was the fiscally responsible thing to do. He was OK with slashing electric subsidies as long as they also slashed oil and gas subsidies (which Congress/Trump allowed to continue anyway). Elon speaks his mind truthfully, Trump couldn't handle it. They have since decided the feud serves neither of their interests and have a constructive relationship (but neither Elon or Trump have any actual ability to sway the other). As much as I don't like Trump, I'm so glad the country was saved from Kamala and her string-pullers behind the scenes that are still actively trying to destroy America. I credit Elon with this more than Trump himself. I think Trump would have lost twice in a row, if not for Elon.

Where is your evidence? Elon is one of the best rule followers, it's in his DNA. You are probably referencing some fake pollution story, with no facts to back it up. Anti-Tesla fake narratives are a dime a dozen because there is a hardcore group of people whose mission in life seems to be to try to make Elon fail. It's a losing game, Elon doesn't fold, he doubles down, he will never let the nasty people win.

Yeah, the people trying to throw shade on Tesla always argue he became anti-subsidy to thwart competition but the facts don't support that. Elon has been consistently against market distorting subsidies going back long before there was any credible competition. He has always known subsidies have unintended negative consequences (distort markets), Elon has never leaned towards anti-competitive behavior, he wins by offering a better product for less money. He even lets other EV makers use Tesla patents for free because that accelerates the transition to a sustainable energy civilization. Elon knows Tesla can't make all the cars in the world!

@MullenZone @damscr @farzyness I would argue that Elon lobbying for no incentives now are to keep other manufacturers from surviving and thriving in the EV business. Having a monopoly in EV business is a path to profits for sure.

Why do unaccomplished people love to tell the world they are an ignorant fool trying to cut Elon down to their size to cover-up the fact they haven't accomplished one one millionth of what Elon has accomplished? So transparent. Don't envy other's success, use it to inspire yourself to create a little of your own.

Elon wasn't legally obligated to answer. What don't you understand about that when you claim he thinks he's above the law? Elon, of all billionaires, knows he is subject to laws wherever he lives or does business. If he doesn't want to follow the laws of a country, he won't live or do business there!
