Today we came together to remember those healthcare workers who have died by suicide.💙 To mark the UK’s inaugural National Suicide Memorial Day for Health and Care Workers, guests gathered for the unveiling the first virtual memorial tree plaque at NHS Practitioner Health’s headquarters in London and held a poignant minute’s silence. Our charity and @NHSPracHealth organised the memorial day so that there would be an annual date dedicated to healthcare workers who have taken their own lives. Across the country, there were various tree planting ceremonies and memorial events at NHS organisations to remember healthcare workers and reconfirm their commitment to protecting staff’s mental health. We hope today has been a fitting memorial to those lives lost and we will continue to work hard to prevent the suicide of health workers.

A silver birch tree has been planted at the Secret Garden, Glenfield, as part of a national campaign to mark the first National Suicide Memorial Day for Health and Care Workers. The initiative has been established by the mental health charity @DoctorsDistress and @NHSPracHealth.
