@paulbaker14 I was told recently that for data protection reasons they wouldn’t let me leave the police station with it and it would only be provided via email if my client was charged. Some consistency would be nice at least.
Just rang custody at charing Cross and asked if a custody record could be sent via cjsm. Been told the only way to obtain a copy would be to print it off and physically collect from the station!! Is this for real?
@Lexytinks Really don’t understand DVPO after a four week bail period and NFA. Client not allowed to contact partner or attend family home for four weeks. Therefore a cooling off period has already been in place, with the ability to access support. Imposing a further period is draconian.
DVPOs are a most peculiar thing… not enough evidence to charge? Fine, we’ll impose pretty harsh restrictions on you using a lower test and send you to prison if you breach the order. I can see cooling off time is important but it just doesn’t sit right somehow in many cases
@CrimeGirI Oh!! I thought it was weird on my journey to and from Peterborough today that the gates were open everywhere, including Kings X. And that the man on my train up said the word ‘beep’ when he scanned my ticket. I thought he must just be a bit odd. Glad I paid £90 for that ticket 🙄
@HarrietEJohnson ‘s booked launched today at the most wonderful book launch. Please buy the book, listen to the audio book, send her fan mail, tell your neighbour Karen to buy it….
Just had a thought - we've done a lot of free advice calls during this bid round and 2 open webinars, not complaining happy to do so. If however you've been a benficiary how about dropping a fiver to a Ukranian support charity. Thanks
For a while, my husband thought I took a blow-up daff with me everywhere I went. And yet, he still married me fair play.

Today’s WICL window is OPEN! Win a box of 6 mixed bottles of English wine from Sonn Macmillan Walker - one of our sponsors, and is from the Heppington Vineyard which happens to be run by criminal silk Henry Blaxand QC! To enter comment with your name below by 6pm!!!! @SMW_Law
@AliceSandersLaw@LawAspi Yes I’d go with black, dark grey or navy. But obviously if you get there and everyone wears more brightly coloured things you can adjust once you get started or wear brighter tops!
@AliceSandersLaw@LawAspi Definitely not just get one or two max and change the top each day. And don’t feel like you have to spend lots. Mark’s & Spencer do great suits and they’re machine washable!
@CrimeGirI Don’t have an issue with it at all and never been an issue with LA clients. I have noticed that private clients look very closely as to what is on barristers profiles. I’ve had to have a word with a few Bs about the lack of info re skill set and previous cases but never a picture
Other courts take note of Basingstoke Mags Court. Unbelievably clean thanks to their incredibly hardworking cleaner. Hand sanitiser everywhere. Everyone in masks. Courts cleaned thoroughly between hearings. Staged listings. So impressed today. Much better than london courts.
