Today, in front of our entire LDS congregation, the young men and women (mostly teenagers) sang the song “Walk With Me" (attached video). As one of the youth leaders, I also participated. As we sang the words, emotions overwhelmed me. My voice kept cracking, I struggled even to sing. The truth of the words sank straight into my heart, my bones, my soul. I know that when we walk with Jesus Christ, he will calm the storms for us, move mountains for us, and heal our weary hearts. He is the source of living water. A tragic act of violence occurred today at a chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc, Michigan. During Sunday worship services a gunman opened fire, and early reports indicate that multiple individuals were injured. We ask for cooperation with local authorities as details become available.
