.@dylan522p gives a deep dive on the 3 big bottlenecks to scaling AI compute: logic, memory, and power. And walks through the economics of labs, hyperscalers, foundries, and fab equipment manufacturers. Learned a ton about every single level of the stack. 0:00:00 – Why an H100 is worth more today than 3 years ago 0:24:52 – Nvidia secured TSMC allocation early; Google is getting squeezed 0:34:34 – ASML will be the #1 constraint for AI compute scaling by 2030 0:56:06 – Can’t we just use TSMC’s older fabs? 1:05:56 – When will China outscale the West in semis? 1:16:20 – The enormous incoming memory crunch 1:42:53 – Scaling power in the US will not be a problem 1:55:03 – Space GPUs aren't happening this decade 2:14:26 – Why aren’t more hedge funds making the AGI trade? 2:18:49 – Will TSMC kick Apple out from N2? 2:24:35 – Robots and Taiwan risk Look up Dwarkesh Podcast on YouTube, Apple Podcasts, or Spotify. Enjoy!

Miranda has been training consistently for years (she met her fiancée at the gym!). Seeing her get stronger has been inspirational and motivating, and seeing her work on making strength training legible and accessible for everyone has been even more beautiful. strength is sexy

ranking pilates classes/studios in SF from toughest to chillest: 1/ Solidcore - any studio/class. kind of a cortisol spike but in a good way. easier to get a res in the Marina location if you enjoy working out at 9PM 2/ BodyTempYoga - heated mat pilates here is by far one of the most challenging classes i’ve done. Local studio in the Marina with decent availability

We’ve raised $400M at a $9B valuation. Investors include Georgian, G Squared, Prysm, 1789, YC, Coatue, a16z, Craft, and QIA, with strategic investments from Accenture, Databricks, Okta, and Tether. We’re also lucky to have incredible individuals backing us, including Shaq and Jared Leto. This funding will help us scale our ambition and expand beyond coding into AI systems that center human creativity. Replit is now used at 85% of the Fortune 500. We have an opportunity to help shape the future of work. One where AI abstracts away the boring parts and humans shine as creative directors. We’re also investing more globally, particularly in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Innovation can come from anywhere in the world, and we want to help unlock it.

I was there when the first dreams came off the assembly line. I was there when the corrupted visions that had congealed in the vats were pincered up and hosed off and carried down the line to be dropped onto the rolling belts. I was there when the first workmen dropped their faceplates and turned on their welding torches. I was there when they began welding the foul things into their armor, when they began soldering the antennae, bolting on the wheels, pouring in the eye-socket jelly. I was there when they turned the juice on them and I was there when the things began to twitch.

we're quite likely to see a web dev aesthetic renaissance that harkens back to the weird, opinionated web of the late 90s now that cookie cutter web design is just a few keystrokes and mouse movements away

@lukeigel I think Kriss's goal is to make Cluely/Roy Lee a poster child for tech itself — the underlying message being "SF is full of these stupid kids" etc. I liked some of the endearing quotes, yes, but this sort of journalism is somewhat to blame for widespread animosity towards SF/tech

Finally got around to reading the Sam Kriss Child's Play article and I'm honestly surprised about how readily tech people are promoting it as if it's not a total infantilization of tech—a reason to hate technologists and the young people trying to build great things
