It just needs to be done in an intelligent way, and slowly and methodically.

@dvassallo Agree but in good companies the failed experiments that end up in your performance reviews are praised (as long as it’s not consistent failure). Action with risk of failure is better than inaction imo.

When you’re the owner you can do this and benefit from experimentation. When you’re an employee, your failed experiments go in your performance review.

@luketshelley I could imagine some cases where age-segmented targeting could help, I suppose. But I haven't seen age segmentation help an ad account in a long time. Segmenting happens by your creative reaching and speaking to the right audience, then the algo reinforcing that.

I just looked at an agency proposal for a ~$500k/myr brand I'm coaching where the FB/IG spend was $2k/month on Awareness & Clicks campaigns with lookalike, age-segmented targeting. I almost threw my computer across the room. I doubt the agency was being malicious, but geez.

if Twitter starts charging $8 per month, Apple is going to take $2.40 of that. very interested to see if Elon tries to find a way around that. he’s never been hit with the Apple tax before.
