we really are back to the moon. i remember when artemis was first announced and i had zero idea about the reality of the program. yes, back then i thought we could’ve landed by 2024. even though we didn’t, this mission makes that wait worth it

seeing the crew in orion is so amazing. despite all the constant debates over the program, this is really what we’re all trying to achieve. people going to the moon. and we’re doing it right now. all this work has really paid off, and it’s beautiful to see

These two images were taken by @astro_reid only minutes apart. The stark difference is the result of camera settings. In the first, a longer shutter speed let in much more light from Earth, while the shorter shutter speed in the second emphasizes our planet's nighttime glow.
