Beaucoup ont été à juste titre choqués par le fait que la guerre en Ukraine y est qualifiée d'"existentielle pour les Russes". Mais ce n'est pas la seule énormité. Déconstruction d'un récit russe trop souvent intériorisé en Occident 👇 1. La guerre en Ukraine est "existentielle pour les Russes". La guerre en Ukraine est existentielle pour le régime poutinien (qui la présente ainsi pour assurer sa survie et légitimer l'agression) et, plus largement, pour le projet impérial russe. La symétrie avec l'Ukraine est, au mieux, une grave confusion. 2. "Kiev a été une capitale russe". C'est un anachronisme dangereux qui n'a strictement aucun sens. Kiev était le centre de la Rus' de Kiev, à une époque médiévale où les catégories nationales "ukrainienne" et "russe" n'existaient évidemment pas. Au moins trois ensembles politiques et culturels peuvent se prétendre héritiers de la Rus' de Kiev après son effondrement. Le Nord-Est de l'ancienne Rus', qui finira par être dominé par la Moscovie, n'était qu'un des successeurs -- et pas le plus évident, ni le plus brillant, loin s'en faut. La Moscovie devra d'ailleurs une partie importante de son ascension à sa collaboration active avec les Mongols contre d'autres principautés de l'ancienne Rus'. L'Ukraine est au moins aussi légitime que la Fédération de Russie à revendiquer l'héritage de la Rus'. Il faut bien comprendre que la revendication par Moscou d'une continuité directe et exclusive entre la Rus' et la Russie relève d'une reconstruction impériale élaborée progressivement (et ce depuis des siècles) par Moscou. 3. "Kiev a été le siège de l’orthodoxie slave". Kiev a eu une importance centrale dans la christianisation de la Rus' (qui n'était pas la Russie, si vous avez bien suivi), mais on ne voit pas bien quel droit spécial cela donnerait à la Moscovie, devenue Empire russe puis Fédération de Russie. Appliquée à l'Europe, cette logique donnerait lieu à des revendications territoriales absurdes sur l'ensemble du continent. 4. "Donc guerre civile". L'Ukraine n'est pas une faction dissidente de la Russie mais un Etat indépendant internationalement reconnu, agressé par un autre Etat. Les Ukrainiens sont un peuple spécifique, avec une langue, une culture et une histoire particulières. Les proximités incontestables qui existent avec la Russie n'effacent en rien ces différences fondamentales, et annulent encore moins l'existence de l'Ukraine comme Etat souverain et indépendant. Il s'agit d'une guerre interétatique, et non d'une guerre civile. 5. "Guerre entre Slaves". Réduire cette guerre aux "Slaves" est, au mieux, une divagation. Une grille culturaliste et ethno-civilisationnelle erronée et dangereuse qui reprend largement le récit impérial russe. 6. Une "guerre de religion". Cette guerre n'a aucun rapport fondamental avec la religion. L'orthodoxie est instrumentalisée par le pouvoir russe, mais elle n'est pas une cause structurante du conflit. Comparer la guerre en Ukraine aux "guerres de religion en Europe" est pour le moins baroque. En 22 secondes, plusieurs catégories essentielles du discours du Kremlin ont ainsi été reprises par l'un des plus éminents représentants de l'armée française : prétendue unité historique russo-ukrainienne, prétendue centralité de Kiev pour la Russie, prétendu conflit interne au "monde russe", prétendue guerre existentielle pour Moscou, etc. Les dégâts d'une telle intervention sont potentiellement considérables dans le cadre de la guerre psychologico-informationnelle que les élites politico-militaires russes mènent contre nous, et théorisent depuis plus de trente ans. Gerasimov comparait, dans les années 2010, les effets d'une action psychologico-informationnelle réussie à ceux d'un déploiement de troupes à grande échelle. La défense de l'Europe passe d'abord et avant tout par la bonne compréhension de ce qui se joue en Ukraine.
