It's an attack that requires Sukuna to physically touch you. And yes they're relatively the same speed. Notice how Maki is able to keep up the Sukuna

Mahoraga still has to adapt to attacks even if theyre relatively the same because some attacks evolve For example, Sukuna started faking his slashes. And his Domain Expansion is a completely different monster than Cleave

The reason he died to sukuna was that sukuna used an entirely new attack which mahoraga was unadapted to and evaporated him. Mahoraga handled malevolent shrine fine cause he'd adapted to cuts

I like how people trying to scale Mahoraga outside of the verse just plug a controller up their fav's ass and give them the information they have to oneshot it before it adapts like Dabura wouldn't have made dusts off it if he knew that at the beginning too
