@kristenrudd I decided to “cull” my bookshelves. I donated 4 books to the local school fair and rearranged the rest. I hate parting with books.

I an desperately out of shelf space, so I went through my 2,700-volume library today in an effort to clean up, consolidate, and downsize. I am done. Please clap.

@lyndak_aa @sodadog21 @Peter_Fitz Put it to you simply. Jennifer Robinson used Extreme Left Wing Arguments to support her Client, Julian Assange. Her Legal Point of View is not welcome in America. She is highly unlikely to ever travel to America to practice Law.

In 2013, George Clooney gifted $1 million in Tumi suitcases to each of his 14 closest friends during a dinner party, personally covering the taxes as well. According to longtime friend Rande Gerber, Clooney told them: “I’ve got good news and bad news. The good news is, I’ve got your money. The bad news is, I don’t have it anymore.” Each friend also received tax coverage so no one would owe a cent. Clooney’s decision was inspired by gratitude rather than extravagance. These were the friends who had loaned him money, given him a couch to sleep on, and stood by him before fame. The act became legendary in Hollywood, a reminder that wealth means little without generosity. Clooney’s friend Rande Gerber later said most recipient was a working professional, some barely making ends meet, and that Clooney’s gift “changed their lives overnight.” © History Pictures #archaeohistories

If you repeat the line "death tax" as a journalist Without making clear it is an LNP or conflicted tax adviser's talking point that has no substance in fact or law Then you aren't a journalist There is literally no element of the ALP's policy that supports that claim

@Melbourne_says In 1969 my family saved them and then we painted them silver, put a small ribbon bow on them, and they were a decoration on the tables at my wedding. Simpler times 😊

Anyone else’s parents keep this bone from a chicken, dry it out, then get two people to hook it with their pinky fingers and snap it while ya made a wish? And if ya got the bigger piece ya wish would come true?

📌😱🇨🇳It’s truly a marvel of modern journalism to see certain 🇺🇸 US outlets (Fox, Newsmax, OAN—I’m takin’ to YOU!) reporting on those jumping, flag-waving children in #Beijing as a “sincere” display of affection for President #Trump. I’m almost impressed by the commitment to the bit. In reality, this is the clever #CCP’s "State Visit-Plus" (#国事访问+) playbook. Those children aren't there because they’re fans; they are a huāshù (#花束)—a choreographed “bouquet” of human props. These groups are meticulously vetted (zǔzhī #组织), rehearsed for weeks, and instructed to chant "Huānyíng, huānyíng!" (欢迎, 欢迎!) with PLA military precision. (First saw this phenomenon in an old news clip in the late 70s from North Korea, where they really perfected it under Kim Il Sung.) It’s a state-mandated performance of adulation designed to appeal to a leader's ego, yet some media are treating it like a spontaneous neighborhood block party. Understanding the "human paint" of Chinese protocol is key, otherwise, you're just reporting on the set dressing. (And if it turns out that President Trump actually thought this was a sincere display, I’m going to be very disappointed, and it will move on from mere humor.)

That self serving Jeff Kennett came up with the idea that Premiers who serve more than 3000 days should get a statue - all the while with himself in mind - only to have the great @DanielAndrewsMP earn one, is karma at its friggin best. #DanTheMan #IStandWithDan

I tried to teach my mom how to use her new phone last Christmas. Six hours. Six hours I will never get back. I love her. I want that on record before I tell this story. Me: Okay so this is your home screen. Mom: Which one is that. Me: The main one. Where all your apps are. Mom: What's an app. Me: The little pictures. Each picture opens something. Mom: Like the camera? Me: Exactly like the camera. Mom: I know the camera. Your aunt showed me. Me: Great. So each little picture.... Mom: Why are there so many pictures. Me: Those are your apps. You have a lot of them. Mom: I didn't put them there. Me: They came with the phone. Mom: Can I remove them. Me: Some of them yes. Mom: Which ones. Me: The ones you don't use. Mom: I don't know what any of them do. Me: Okay let's not worry about removing them. Let's just..... Mom: Who put them there. Me: Apple. The company that makes the phone. Mom: Why? Me: Because they thought you'd need them. Mom: I didn't ask them to. Me: I know. That's just how it works. Mom: I don't like that. Me: (breathes) Me: Okay. Can we just focus on WhatsApp? Just WhatsApp for now. Mom: That's the messaging one? Me: Yes. To text people. Mom: I already know how to text. Me: On the new phone though? Mom: (pause) Mom: Show me again. Me: (shows her) Mom: And to send I press that arrow? Me: Yes. Mom: (sends a voice note by accident) Me: That was a voice note. Mom: I didn't mean to do that. Me: It's okay. To send a message you type and then? Mom: Who did I send it to. Me: (checks) Me: Your whole family group chat. Mom: What did I say. Me: (plays it) Mom: (on recording) Is this working? Hello? Hello? Mom: Delete it. Me: I can't delete it from their phones. Mom: (stares at me) Me: (five more hours to go)

When you get old, like in your 60s, you start to miss things in the past like the 1970s: sleeping in station wagons, almost anywhere at the coast for free with million-dollar views. So missed these days now 😔. Did anyone else do this stuff ?

@MysterySolvents @EileenMarieSar1 Evangelicals claim Jesus actually drank grape juice at the last supper, So I'm sure they'll claim it's cider. What if it's laced as a time release that hits them all in 2-weeks? Communists wouldn't do that, right?

We will oppose and repeal all of Labor's bad taxes. Labor's tax on property - by closing negative gearing - will go Labor's tax on investment - by increasing capital gains taxes - will go. Labor's tax on small business - by taxing trusts - will go. Labor's tax on non electric cars will go. Labor's tax on industry - through carbon taxes - will go. Labor's silent inflation tax - through bracket creep - will go. Taxes will be lower under a Liberal and Nationals Government.

@WindsorSmithWon @jeff_kennett @mitchell_costin That “wealth” is in property. Houses that were built cheaply post war are now hugely expensive, but where do the people go if they sell? My parents in law are a case. Built their small 3 bedroom weatherboard home in an area that was nearly rural. Today, it is worth a million $

@jeff_kennett @mitchell_costin It sure about this Jeff. Many seniors have had a life so extraordinarily good and now live in a $1 to $1.5 million dollar house and they can’t pay an extra $500 to prop up the system Yes means test but many people over 65 have amassed huge wealth

The removal of the rebate for private health insurance for people over 65, is grossly unfair. The rebate should have been means tested. Many seniors are low income or on pensions. Their health insurance is often their biggest expense which they struggle to keep. Unfair.

@jeff_kennett @CazAusie Also, Jeff, It will cost the public health system $$$ millions when the Pensioners give away their private insurance. The public hospitals use their private health for admissions and procedures to help reduce overall costs.
