@suRYvor Joe, Jonathan, and Coach would never with the game simply because everyone else couldn’t stand them. You could have paired anyone with any combination of them in the final 3 and that person would have won. Once Rizzo lost firemaking the outcome was obvious.

My Boomer father never saw the inside of a restaurant until he was 16 years old.
My husband and I are very well off but eat only one restaurant meal per week. I make everything else from scratch.
It's the height of entitlement to think you deserve restaurant food.

The biggest thing happening behind the scenes in the "expensive lunch" discourse is that Zoomers are eating out at ridiculously high rates. It's a silent assumption for a ton of young people that restaurants are a basic necessity, not an occasional treat.

Fun fact for the $10 billion lawsuit crowd.
The IRS leak that exposed Donald Trump’s tax returns happened between August 2019 and November 2020.
405,427 other taxpayer returns were also leaked.
Trump was president. His own pick, Charles Rettig, ran the IRS. The contractor who did it, Charles Littlejohn, worked on a Trump-era IRS contract and is now serving five years in federal prison.
On January 29, 2026, Trump sued the IRS and Treasury for $10 billion over a breach that happened on his watch, under his commissioner, by a contractor his administration paid.
He is suing the federal government he ran, for failing to stop a leak that occurred while he was running it.
The taxpayer foots the bill either way.

Gen X here... I've worked hard for 30 years to get where I am. I make good money, and I've earned it. I can afford a $28 lunch, but choose not to spend that much most of the time because it feels frivolous. Gen Z is on here complaining about why lunch costs $28, or why Chipotle or Jersey Mike's costs what it does. I get it, it's definitely more than it used to be. So adjust. Get water instead of a $5 soda. Find a local place that is more reasonable. Bring in a lunch from home once in a while. Solve the problem instead of whining and continuing to hurt yourself by spending that much money if you really shouldn't be.

The people whining in the comments are showing how right he is. Their feelings of entitlement for a lifestyle they haven’t earned is ridiculous.
Meanwhile, most successful people I know or have met make a lot more than this and pack a lunch of the leftover home cooked meal from the night before.
Laziness and stupidity are very expensive to maintain. Going out to eat regularly is typically not the healthiest option either.

Oh bull. A 2-bedroom in the same complex that I first rented in out of college is currently 60% higher than I paid in the 90s. My first house sold last year for 70% more than I bought it for in 2006...and that includes the $30k worth of work and material I put into it.
Housing prices have gone up. And it some places they've gone up a lot. But they haven't tripled everywhere. If you live in a place with such crappy policy that your housing costs have tripled, stop living there.

When i was in my 20’s in the 1990’s, I ate out twice a day, went to the bar every night, every summer weekend drove 200 miles to the family cabin & still had money left over, to say Gen Z just needs to stop eating lunch is ridiculous.
