“It takes a village to raise a reading child.” 📚 Our CEO @JDLiteracyTrust told the Education Select Committee’s reading for pleasure inquiry that reversing the decline in children’s reading enjoyment needs national leadership, local action and support for schools and families.

Marrying the past with the present is something that has often been done to celebrate black history. Last semester, students from the Cordova High School choir took a trip to Houston, Texas, to perform in the 2025 Voices of Houston Spiritual Festival. During their performance, they sang a well-known Negro Spiritual born during slavery — "You Must Have That True Religion." Negro Spirituals, for many enslaved Africans, served as a beacon of hope and faith during perilous times. Many of these spirituals have been repurposed and used throughout black history to serve the same purpose. Watch this short snippet from CHS Choir’s 2025 Performance.

Vocabulary growth doesn’t come primarily from guessing at meaning. It comes from building knowledge deliberately, through instruction that is planned, precise, and revisited over time. Vocabulary is more than a strategy. It’s a body of knowledge.

Amidst the confusion and countless questions, the Israelites clung to one clear truth: God is faithful. Even when they couldn't grasp His plans, they trusted in His steadfast faithfulness. It's a powerful reminder for us that God's loyalty isn't swayed by our understanding or our circumstances. Have you experienced His faithfulness in your life? Tell us in the comments.
