BREAKING: ConCourt will deliver judgment in the EFF’s bid to challenge parly’s Dec 2022 decision to not adopt the S89 panel report into Phala Phala on Friday, 8 May 2026. EFF contends that Parly acted irrationally by “blocking” a further probe against the President #SABCNews

@Joe__Bassey You cannot campaign for “open borders” in one country when 53 other African states don’t allow it. If open borders are to be implemented, it should be done through the African Union, with all member states on board. Doing it unilaterally in Pretoria id just to burden SAns.

Many Africans are closing their shops, and some are selling them off with their goods just to leave South Africa 🇿🇦 due to xenophobia. Very soon, Indians, Chinese, and other Asians are going to expand their shops, but still most Black South Africans won’t buy up those shops and begin businesses.

Local government elections we are voting for service delivery at municipal level. Anyone making noise about borders and immigration in their campaign is lying, have no plans to fix the rot in our municipaties and provide services to communities. Vote for them at your own peril. Nna ke tsamaya le EFF all the way. I know their manifesto will be service delivery and solution focused. I know candidates will be capable and equal to the task.

When did xenophobia start in south African? History Xenophobia in South Africa, particularly in the form of violence targeting African migrants, gained significant traction immediately following the transition to democracy in 1994. While isolated incidents occurred earlier, 1994 marked the beginning of a persistent, violent trend, as documented by the African Centre for Migration & Society (ACMS) and its Xenowatch platform. Key Historical Developments and Drivers:1994-1995 (Post-Apartheid Emergence): Shortly after the first democratic elections, armed youth gangs in Alexandra, Johannesburg, began attacking and displacing suspected undocumented migrants. 1998 (Violence on Public Transport): Foreign nationals were targeted, including incidents where individuals were thrown from trains. 2000 (Early Killings): Seven foreign nationals were killed in the Cape Flats area of Cape Town, as reported by Independent Newspapers Online and cited by the Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation (CSVR). May 2008 (Widespread Outbreak): Xenophobic violence intensified dramatically, with riots breaking out in Alexandra and spreading across Gauteng and the country, resulting in 62 deaths, according to South African History Archive (SAHA) and the Human Rights Watch World Report 2009.2015-2019 (Renewed Waves): Further widespread attacks, including in Durban and Johannesburg, were partly attributed to high unemployment and poverty. 2020s (Organized Movements): The rise of groups like Operation Dudula marked a shift toward organized, vigilante-style campaigns against foreign nationals.Root Causes and Context:Scapegoating: Foreigners are often blamed for high rates of crime, unemployment, and poverty.Resource Competition: Tensions are high in townships and informal settlements, often involving competition for jobs, housing, and economic resources. "Afrophobia": Research, including that from FairPlanet and Georgetown Journal of International Affairs, shows that this violence is specifically aimed at African and South Asian migrants, rather than foreigners generally.

@Julius_S_Malema is hated by non thinkers. He is blamed for the crises created by those who hold power. He is accused of sparking chaos through his political ideology, and falsely held responsible for illegal immigration despite having no authority or power to control borders.

The EFF’s Statement on the May 2026 Fuel Price Increases -The EFF rejects the continued reliance on temporary and reactive measures. The National Treasury itself indicated that broader interventions would be developed over the medium term, yet no concrete, structural measures have been presented to Parliament or the public. This lack of urgency demonstrates a government that is disconnected from the lived realities of its people.
