It is French soil managed by the American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC). We didn’t want the headache of a border crossing.

Every year, I share this video of French caretakers who take sand from Omaha Beach in Normandy, and scrub them into the letters to give them the gold coloring. They do this for all 9,386 US soldiers who died. France also gave us this land as American soil. #MemorialDayWeekend

@RealRiddimHours Yeah we’ve had a few winners lately. All of them report that it’s a waking nightmare. The Q is no better and I’ve run into a lot of guys that for whatever reason cannot make it through the Q. At some point you have to wonder if they even know what they’re selecting for.

Do modern day SOF candidates who wash out ever get crazy resentment for how much “easier” the pipelines used to be? I feel like it would be hard not to feel that way

Thanks for talking about this, it’s something our junior leaders have not been confronted with for the most part. I discuss moral injury with my junior leaders and how those junior leaders are in a unique position to do grave damage to their Soldiers. They must be very careful with the power and authority granted to them. I tell my subordinates that if they do not feel that they have enough time, information, or authority to make a moral decision, that is an immediate information requirement to their chain.

Here’s another scenario that could lead to moral injury: During a deployment, a service member participates in a raid where enemy fighters are killed, but in the chaos, the unit also destroys property and humiliates local civilians in ways that feel degrading (e.g., aggressive searches or verbal abuse driven by fear and adrenaline). Upon returning home, the veteran avoids family gatherings because he feels dirty" or unworthy of love. He thinks, "I'm not the hero people think I am—I'm a monster who terrorized people who didn't deserve it." Shame manifests as a deep sense of personal defectiveness, leading to social withdrawal and the hiding of service history. Your thoughts on this hypothetical? Don’t feel obligated to share anything you don’t want to share.

They were pagans and had a moral structure that you and I as post-Christian humans simply cannot understand. Read pre-Christian literature to really get a feel for how those warriors saw their actions.

In LSCO it turns into a targeting packet on day one. Time to train leaders who can execute with intent when the plan dies and higher is silent.

The Combined Arms Rehearsal theater is dead. If you’re still building one in 2025, you’re not training for LSCO—you’re planning your own funeral. Picture it: 300 leaders in a hangar, 47 projectors, 12 hours of rock-drill perfection, brigade commander walking the miniature terrain like a god scripting every bound. Meanwhile the enemy’s recon-strike complex just watched the whole thing from orbit: thermal bloom of the hangar, 300 cell phones pinging the same tower, every vehicle parked in neat rows outside for the satellite pass. @AnechoicMedia_ I did the math and past O-5/20 years of service it makes basically 0 financial sense to remain in the military. Everyone still in after that point is in it for love of the game.

A consequence of this I learned of is if you are successful in your military career and get promoted to a high rank, you hit a pay cap that leaves you around Google L3 pay. Since this doesn't pay for an executive lifestyle, especially one that requires maintaining a second residence and frequent travel, you're basically expected to be independently wealthy to continue serving in leadership, while the rise-through-the-ranks middle class service members are forced out.

Watching the clone wars with my kids, it seems that despite hundreds of encounters the separatist army never developed any mass adopted Jedi countermeasures or doctrine. Total failure of the separatist general staff.

Just a friendly warning. We don’t even make $200k per year in Congress despite working nearly 140 days. If we aren’t properly compensated, a lot of us will go to the private sector and you will be left with some real idiots in Congress.

@TheLucyShow1 Kids now a days in high school should not be umping anything! 9 out of 10 don’t know the game and they think it’s cool to piss off a grown up! They have there phone attached to there hip between innings and care nothing about the game just a paycheck

So the umpire at a kid’s baseball game, and who btw is a senior in high school, is more mature than a coach who throws a fit and decides to forfeit a game because he can’t be adult enough!! What exactly does this “coach” think he is teaching kids??? 💁🏻‍♀️
