@Phillies @PhilsPlayerDev Retired 14 of the last 15 hitters he faced; allowed just 3 hits (2 of them weak, seeing-eye grounders); got through his last 3 innings on just 23 pitches; threw a total of 69 pitches (44 strikes). So of course Mattingly pulls him only to see their 3-2 lead immediately disappear.

@Verace_me @ah_pod He did the same damn thing yesterday too, on a 0-0 count in the 1st with nobody on. The difference between 1-0 and 0-1 in that situation in terms of run expectancy is miniscule, but it has a big impact on challenge usage thereafter. Tonight's was only marginally better.

the one bad thing about ABS is how when I want one of the phillies to challenge the call I yell and hit myself violently on top of the head several times. it is not something I can control.

@ah_pod All Phillies pitchers not named Aaron Nola combined to allow a total of 1 earned run in the series. That one was a leadoff HR in the top of the 5th of game 1; from there, they didn't allow an ER over their last 24 innings pitched (the Phillies scored 18 ER over the same span).

Flyers didn’t really get a scramble at the net like that, for all those OT chances.

@blondederin It's excruciating. Absolute despair when you lose, but the greatest feeling ever when you win, especially to clinch a series. There's nothing better in sports than Stanley Cup OT hockey. And I hate it. 😅

If there’s one thing that this Flyers playoff run has taught me its that I hate overtime hockey. How do yall not just die.

Andrew Painter has a chance to show something important and get out of the sixth with a lead. Instead he gives up a hard liner into the gap and the Phils are losing.

@JackFritzWIP @SportsRadioWIP They've now scored in just one inning or fewer in fully half of their games: 4 shutouts and 7 games with one run-scoring inning. Harper's 9th inning HR last week (down 11-1) spoiled an 8th; it would also have been the 3rd in which they scored all their runs before making an out.

They did the thing where they only scored in one inning again. Final Out coming up in about a half hour on @SportsRadioWIP.

@TimKellySports @OnPattison Sosa not having a good game. Bases loaded and 1 out, he strikes out swinging at 3 pitches nowhere near the zone; up again with 1st & 3rd and 1 out, fouls to 1st. Just misses a blooper (that Stott almost certainly gets to, with his greater range) that sets up the 2 out, 3-run HR.

Through the first three innings of the game, the Phillies are down 7-0 and are 0-for-4 with runners in scoring position. It's bleak. @OnPattison

We had 59 pitches thrown in the first inning in Philly. 30 by Taijuan Walker 29 by Martin Perez That's a 531-pitch pace if you're calculating along at home. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

@LesBowen Sánchez got paid, and he just got better, both times. Luzardo, not so much.

@_piccone Since the 8th inning of game 1 in SF, they've batted in 36 innings, the equivalent of 4 full games. They've scored 8 runs, in just two of those 36
