@HedyAI_ @omarsar0 Interesting, is your quantized model available to use? Did you finetune it for working with mobile microphones and environments?

@omarsar0 Quantization is in a slightly different part of the optimization stack, but is also particularly useful for resource constrained execution environments. We use a 5b quantized Whisper model to cut storage and memory requirements down 50% in our mobile app.

Not sure why LLM compression is not discussed more often. Leveraging very large language models to build capable smaller LMs will be a huge win for everyone. Companies like NVIDIA and Meta seem to be pushing hard on pruning and distillation for good reason. The compressed Llama 3.1 and NeMo models mentioned in this paper look very competitive.

(4/X) That's strange, it's not normal, it's not something that happens with other candidates. Regular candidates can book normal venues because they pay their bills...

@simonw Another thing to look for is HIPAA compliance! HIPAA is very strict about what information is stored and transmitted. If your provider is giving you a HIPAA compliant solution you even have isolation.

Does anyone know if you can sign a deal with a major LLM provider - like Anthropic or OpenAI - and get it in legalese writing that they won't ever train on content you send to their APIs? I've been assuming so but I'd love to hear from someone who's seen such a contract

@cristalopes They work until they don't. This was from 20 years ago, however, so maybe the technology has changed. Thr family dog at the time stayed in bounds but then got excited about something and straight into the street (but not traffic, thankfully) she ran.
