@VoteTrevorLee These numbers (which are votes cast numbers, not party reg numbers) need to be evaluated in context. 2012 was Romney and 2024 was Trump. That alone explains much of the swing. Here are voter registration numbers from Utah County:

🚨 Sounding the alarm: this shift isn’t sustainable. Utah has a suicidal empathy problem. We will be blue within the decade if we don’t lead out on conservative policies that actually work. The rest of America shifted RIGHT in 2024. Look at states surging further right (Florida, Texas, Tennessee) vs. Utah’s trend. What are they doing differently? Eliminating sanctuary policies, increased church attendance, conservative judiciary appointments, spending cuts, and pro-growth policies that protect families instead of importing problems. @macsims Yeah I should have put a note in there that Utah can’t really be looked at in the same way just cause of the Romney effect. Utah County for example still voted for Trump by 40 just much lower than Romney did

@rep_favorite Thanks! I think there are some Utah specific dynamics at play here. In 2012, Romney was on the ballot which gave him an atypical boost in Utah. Also, Mormons like people who are nice. In 2024, Trump was on the ballot, and not really seen as nice. So he did poorer than usual.

@macsims @RosieM00re @VoteTrevorLee Ok but then voterrecords.com buys the data and puts it out for anyone to access, which is my point. A single time fee doesn’t matter when it can then be exported to a free website and then scraped permanently into a database

@LindsayOnAir it’s disingenuous to be pro democracy and representative government but then make it so candidates cannot communicate with voters. If you are truly “at-risk”, there is a process for that.

This manipulative, terrible woman on the left of your screen is who gave puberty blockers to Clementine after just one half-hour appointment at the age of 12. She told her parents they would have a dead daughter if they didn’t go along with it. Johanna Olson-Kennedy then put Clementine on testosterone at 13, and sent her for a double mastectomy at 14. She never even bothered to ask Clementine about her history. In 5 minutes, I learned more than this doctor who sent her on a path of sterility and irreversible harm. Thankfully, Clementine is now suing her!

And any unelected body has no claim to represent the will of the people when drawing maps. The legislature IS elected by the people. #utpol

@gopTODD He's not wrong. The legislature greatly underestimates the lack of confidence most of us have in it. I'd love to see an amendment that takes the legislatures ability to draw maps away. I'd like an independent commission to draw them fairly every time.

@Swig_super @RepealProp4 The maps passed by the legislature in 2022 would become the legal maps. MWEGs lawsuit is based on Prop 4. So if prop 4 no longer exists, the lawsuit, and its rulings go away.
