@PaulSkallas A24 opened a boutique theatre. Maybe other film houses will reopen smaller cinema/bars. Alcohol consumption is down so we still need third spaces.

Was just nearly attacked by a petition signature gatherer who tells me this proposal to require identification for voters in Michigan would somehow make it easier to vote for those already registered. That’s not true, but there aren’t laws against canvassers lying to the public.

11 public records requests I made to the city of Detroit in June and July are long overdue. Is that a denial? I asked a month ago, no response. FOIA just doesn't work here. It's a persistent barrier to my reporting on public affairs.

After I graduated college I lived with my parents and put my entire income into student loans. It took less than a year to pay them off. I think this is a good financial move that more people should consider but I also recognize I have fewer desires than other people
