I still can’t figure out why Gemini struggles to compete with Claude and GPT.
- Owns Chrome
- Backed by Android
- Stores most search results
- Holds ~95% search history

FYI: 5.6 Sol medium is better than 5.5 xhigh.
As you go higher in reasoning levels on Sol, you will get insane levels of performance, but can burn through limits much more rapidly.
We’re working on communicating this better!

If you're having issues with your usage limits, I really recommend turning down reasoning effort vs what you used in 5.5. 5.6 Sol Medium and 5.5 Medium are not 1:1, and 5.6 Sol Low is the default for a reason! You probably don't need to use xhigh except for very tough problems.

I've always been a fan of the Codex app but this new combined app feels like a bit miss. The UX is all over the place, you change to work mode and nothing below changes....what other app has tabs that do nothing. If you switched to work mode and the chat UI from the web appeared below then I'd understand @OpenAI

One possible escape route for PlayStation (and I guess Xbox), release all games digital day one, game sells and gets an the patches. 6/12 months later a complete disc edition comes out with all patches, collectors have a choice and some would probably double dip. More money for them and we get a version that will always run.

The unified app is coming: This is what @OpenAI calls their "SuperApp". It will be based on the Codex desktop app and will integrate ChatGPT as well. In fact the migration has already started: More and more ChatGPT features are moved into Codex.
It's inevitable and the right way to go. Ultimately it's all just about agentic AI, for coding or any other task.

💯 I really don't see why it has to be 3 separate products If OpenAI successfully designs a unified app that merges ChatGPT into Codex while keeping it intuitive - this issue will be more glaring.
