Kind of weird for the theme song of Trump’s new organization to be something Prince wrote about the inability to move on after a breakup or loss. Sinead O’Connor said she thought about her deceased mom every time she sang it.
@Ravious101 I drink cold brew, hot doesn’t agree w/me. I was making it myself with ground beans, letting it sit overnight, etc kind of a pain. Then stores began selling 48oz bottles for $5-$6 so I started buying it. I drink about 6-8oz/day so I can get 6-8 servings for less than $1 a day 🙌🏼
Coffee is literally dirt cheap to make at home—beans, water, 5 minutes, boom, under a buck a cup.
My Town has 5 coffee places and every morning I see lines of cars longer than my patience, all waiting for that $6 fancy latte and donuts like it's oxygen.
That's $30 a week just in coffee who knows how much people are spending on those deserts..
So $1,500 a year... enough for a nice vacation or at least a new set of tires.
Is this a waste of money or is it just well worth the money?
@Amelia558rs I’d remove the small table and put a longer bookshelf/entertainment style piece there with a lamp near the sofa and some framed pics and maybe a few battery operated candles on top for “warmth”. Baskets on the bottom to hold whatever needs to be held.
I guess I’m officially my coworker’s free Uber now and I don’t know how to end it without looking like the asshole
He found out we live in the same neighborhood and one day asked me for a ride because his car was “broken.” I thought cool, a couple days, no problem. It’s been almost a month. Every morning I have to stop at his house like I’m clocking in for my second job.
He doesn’t offer gas money, doesn’t even grab me a coffee. Nothing. Then another coworker told me he actually overheard this guy saying he SOLD his car and isn’t buying another one because it’s a waste of money. So basically I’m his long term plan.
The audacity though… one morning I overslept and was 20 minutes late and he actually gave me shit for it. Like bro, you’re getting free rides every single day and you’re mad I wasn’t on time for your schedule?
@Hot_Pepper76 Minnie Riperton, Maya Rudolph’s mother. She grew up in a south side Chicago neighborhood close to mine and we went to the same high school for one year, she was a senior, I was a freshman. Her voice was amazing and she was adorable 💝
"Lovin' You" (1974) reportedly started as a little at-home melody for her daughter, then the lyrics showed up and said, not exactly a bedtime song. Are you team whistle notes, or no? Do you remember who sang it?x.com/calmalgodown/s…
@ryleebcoded Not to mention waking up to actual coffee. I’ve had Keurig coffee from several machines over the years while visiting friends and family and I have literally never had a cup that tasted anything like coffee. You’re in for a treat no matter which method you end up using ☕️☕️☕️
I’m thinking about going old school and buying a regular coffee machine. I was never overly in love with my keurig and I just want to wake up to nostalgia vibes and get a pot going.
@DrNeilStone I’ve had 7 Covid shots, the original and several boosters including this past October. I’ve never had Covid, I’ve had one minor cold since 2020, and I’m very much alive.
Apparently 75% of those who got the Covid shot are dead and the other 25% regret they got it
Anyone out there who has had the Covid vaccine, is not dead, and does not regret it?
I'll start
Me 🤚
@DennyBurk Haven’t heard this song in decades and yet I just sang along with every word perfectly in tune. Child of the 60s, huge Beatles fan, it’s amazing what ends up forever buried in our brains.
@Hot_Pepper76 1-877-Kars4Kids it’s been all over TV for 12 years. 12 years. Most annoying commercial EVER! Yes it’s for charity but for gods sake make it stop.
Can someone please recommend a Netflix show that’s actually addictive, the kind that makes people stay up all night and finish season one in one sitting?
@Hot_Pepper76 My first and my last because I’m not a concert person, just don’t enjoy them probably bc I’m only 5’ and can’t see anything even seated. Not to mention too loud. The Beatles, 1965, Chicago.
@Real_Ames First, she herself likely used the pool for exercise. It’s the best exercise there is for older people, even for those with canes. Second, pools MUST be cleaned regularly. And it’s paid through a subscription service so of course it’s being paid while she’s missing.
So she doesn't have a subscription for her ring cam but money is spent for the pool upkeep while she is missing? She is 84 with a cane... who is using her pool?
@omgsidewalks I’m an only child so my kids have no “first” cousins, aunts or uncles from me, but we filled in with grandparents, plenty of “seconds” and “steps”. It worked just fine.
@levirelates Leggings at home, leggings at the gym, leggings when I go out. I own close to 50 pair. Once in awhile I will wear skinny, lightweight jeans in the summer but the other approx 350 days? Leggings.
