Made this County Meath clock ages ago from plywood. I finally hung it in office! The time is coming on 11.30 or Enfield past Kells' geographically speaking 😅 #BeautifulMeath #Meath #geography #county

Wish I could have been there to join in the protest outside the Dáil today. PhD researchers across Ireland are at a breaking point, unable to keep up with the cost of living on stipends which leave us earning well below minimum wage. Immediate action is needed.
PWO TCD@PWO_TCD

Great turnout from PhDs at the Dáil today demanding livable incomes & equal pay for all Let's build on this momentum by organising together on our campuses- get involved by contacting us @pgwa_ie We're working with @USI_Postgrad & @SIPTU to form a fighting PhD union, join us!

No response to my letter from the leader of the Irish Labour Party. I suppose racism within the ranks of the Labour Party is not a priority for Ms Bacik.

@EemerEivers If we could develop resources for teaching STEM as Gaeilge maybe could balance the time allocation.

Back to my normal tweets. New report from Eurydice on #maths & #science from #TIMSS & #PISA. Not just achievement, but looks at student motivation too. I see our abysmal time allocation for primary science is obscured by including tech teaching time under science instruction 🙄
Erasmus+@EUErasmusPlus

What education systems have more students with a basic knowledge of maths or science? What policies influence student achievement? The new Eurydice Network report supports education policy-makers and stakeholders in strengthening student motivation🎓

@PrimEdTeacher Guidelines for promoting to schools needed. I think Supervalu effort on pollinators has nice aspects but card collecting to enter a draw is a time waster.

I think they are campaigning to continue doing what they currently do, including pollutants and climate impacts. Financial supplements of private businesses with such environmental and social impact should encourage production of healthy foods in sustainable way.

@niamh_dr I think it will be good to see if certain children have been impacted more by the current circumstances and can be offered support they might not normally have needed. The pressure comes from somewhere,-maybe teachers, parents can hide their interest in that part of the report.

@gregor_kerr @seancaff24 That sounds suspiciously like science. Outcomes based on risk of exposure (number of close contacts, transmissability of variants) x consequence of catching (age, underlying conditions). It's the exposure risk that's increased worry for snas, gardai and teachers.

@seancaff24 The comparison of the 30 year old teacher to the 60 year old somebody is only relevant and scientific if both are likely to have the same exposure to the danger of contacting Covid.

This girl has my absolute admiration for her mental, physical and emotional strength. I have a feeling she will do a lot to change Ireland for the better. The headline is too sensationalist. Part of the change that is needed. @IrishTimes

So, noting that limitation, here are four counties showing different recent patterns. Dublin: Second period of excess, still rising Cork: First excess, still rising Waterford: First excess, but now returned to normal range Westmeath: No visible excess in 2020/21 /end
