@DFrankcom Who the fuck tips in a pub in England unless it’s table service?

The tipping culture in America never fails to baffle me I won’t lie. A pint is around $9 (just under £7) which includes an 18.75% service charge (so around $7.50 for the actual pint itself, which isn’t too dissimilar to UK prices) and I’m fine with that. But then they give you a pen with the receipt to write an extra tip on and it’s so bloody awkward. So many questions going through my mind every time. What do you want me to do here? What was the 18.75% for? Are you not getting paid by the hour? How much are you getting of that service charge? How much more are you expecting? Do I look a tight bastard if I just do $1 more? I’d say I’m a very generous bloke too with my time and my money but it’s just mind-blowing stuff how this is a normality. Can’t beat just buying 3 pints in the UK (well Europe, let’s be honest) in a pub for around 18quid… and just giving a 20sheet to the barman and letting them keep the change 🍻

@gharte72 If it's practical and doesn't cost loads of money, can't see why it can't be done. I know nothing about dog racing, but think they might do it too.

Really don’t get the weird obsession with knocking Ken Pitterson on here for what are brief opinion segments. People go on like they’ve never ever backed a loser in a sport that essentially EVERYONE loses more than they win. Paddock watching is a specialised talent; it’s hard.

@bettinggeekz Wont win many at proper tracks over further than 450m. Might be ok at gaff tracks like pelaw, Sunderland.

Finally get to see if start the engine is a one trick pony. I personally love the dog and have been wanting him to step away from Oxford for a while. Finally happens due to unfortunate circumstances but hope he runs a good race. Last 13 races all won at the track you have to respect it.

I will defend greyhound racing till my last day. But and big but, we go on about how popular it is and how many people it employs. But when a stadium has to close because it loses media rights contract. Just shows that gbgb and stadiums are not actually bothered about spectators

@figjamben Fella looked disgusted, would never have come back even if it hadn’t closed. Never even opened the chip bar during the school holidays… never wanted a crowd. Only sport to have regressed over the past 20 years 🙁
