My interim period as Head Coach of @AlfretonTownFC has come to an end. Slightly longer than originally planned but me and Callum have loved every minute of it and we wish everyone at the club the very best. UTR ❤️🤝

Barcelona killing Newcastle’s m2m: •Reset + switch to overloaded left → m2m unsettled & roles disrupted. •Yamal & Raph narrow, Cancelo high & Lewa deep → free the halfspace. •Anticlockwise Lewa–Fermin rotation → open diagonal lane + attack the HS.x.com/brnswi/status/…

Our game yesterday vs AFC Balsall was abandoned due to a medical emergency relating to one of our players. It was confirmed last night to have been a heart attack (shared with players permission)...

“Outwitting” noticing out of the corner of your eye/sensing opponent’s movement without giving away your intentions with a big head scan is vital - allowing you to adjust at the last moment from a moving screen to fake & move away from the defender who reads your first movement
Paul McGuinness@PaulMcG8

The ‘moving screen’ deceiving your marker by using body language to receive but then with ‘small late movements’ letting the ball run against or across your opponents’s flow - at the same time using your body as a barrier between your opponent & the ball creating a moving screen

Final 3rd penetration should be all about “Breaching Gates” •Possessor: Disguise, varied passing techniques, & timing of release. •Receiver: Blindside arrivals, timing & scale of movement (Sidesteps/Sprints/etc) “Lure & Sneak” to play against momentum.

@RSPCA_official But you left the greyhound forum and are calling for a ban, even though risk to horses in NH racing is higher than greyhound racing. Sounds hypocritical. You cannot reduce risk to zero

@DizzyJB @chrisgambler247 They are banning it in Scotland where it doesn’t even exist 🤦‍♂️ you need to see what their bigger picture is.

@Ryan__Conneely @chrisgambler247 Greyhound racing had an appalling welfare record in Australia. They brought in wholesale welfare changes but it was too late to save the sport.

There’s a lot of talk today about how the Green Party would ban horse racing. Simply not true. They would ban the whip & the exploitation of horses for commercial gain. But it is not their policy to ban the sport as a whole. If you love the horse, all of these are positive moves.

@DizzyJB @chrisgambler247 It’s happening all over the world.Only have to look at Australia,New Zealand and Wales/Scotland here.Anti gambling organisations get in with a few MPs and they suddenly start pushing for bans. They’re banning greyhound racing which has far better welfare stats than horse racing

@Ryan__Conneely @chrisgambler247 Even in coalition I don’t think any party is going to pursue policies that are not popular, practical or workable…

@DizzyJB They will go directly at greyhound racing and seek a ban. They will get at horse racing by applying all sorts of taxes and regulations on bookmakers so the sport isn’t financially viable. Coalition government is really bad news for both sports as deals will be made.

@chrisgambler247 @stevenctilley Unfortunately the greyhound industry have been authors in their own downfall due to bad practices when it comes to welfare. And the changes they’ve brought in are probably too little, too late. It’s a real shame (and I’ve been a big supporter), but I’ve seen this at first hand.

I can’t watch snowboard cross without thinking of this amazing Winter Olympics moment. ‘This is a lap of honour… OHHH… drama, Jacobellis is down… FRIEDEN… FRIEDEN !’ This was 20 years ago. Thankfully, Lindsey Jacobellis did eventually win Olympic gold, at Beijing 2022.

Your passing drills shouldn't be complicated. They just need 4 things: 1) Short passes – keep it simple. 2) Constant movement – no players standing around. 3) High pace – if it's not fast it's pointless. 4) Small groups – more touches per player. 🎥: proveitfootball
