I’ve been in Rishikesh for the last two days. One thing I’m curious about… Why is it so difficult to find non-veg here? I’m not complaining, just trying to understand. Everywhere I go, almost every menu is purely vegetarian. I didn’t expect it to be this common. Is it because of religious reasons, government rules, or do most people here simply prefer vegetarian food?

1/n Another Case of Financial Embezzlement and other gross Irregularities by a serving Major General: Maj Gen Ajay Misra from Regt of Artillery has been the GOC Telangana Andhra Sub Area (TASA) Secunderabad, since Dec 2024. In the past 18 months, he has outdone everyone in financial dishonesty, corruption, misuse of resources, manpower, funds, trying to ingratiate himself with politicians for personal enrichment and upwards mobility. Every 3/4 months , he goes on TD to seek appointments with Governor AP or the CM besides senior bureaucrats. During these visits, mementos worth lacs of rupees are given as gifts to these dignitaries and their secretaries. No worthwhile purpose has been achieved by these repeated visits except personal networking of the GOC. On one such visit, where he was accompanied by his spouse, they have even stayed overnight at a minister's house despite not being related to him, which is anyway improbable since the GOC is a North Indian and not a Telugu. The GOC has hosted multiple parties in his house as well as in the Sub Area Mess where his personal guests which mostly include politicians and bureaucrats besides businessmen have been paid out of Sub Area regimental and welfare funds. These parties are invariably organised by the Supply Depot Secunderabad Commanding officer. Nearly 15 lac rupees have been spent by the GOC for a personal gymnasium at his residence out of Sub Area welfare funds which are ideally meant for welfare of troops. The vehicles forming part of the GOC fleet have been grossly misused in the past 18 months for personal purposes incl his civilian guests and relatives. 06 drivers have been attached from Regimental centres since these vehicles are generally always being used. Other officers posted to the Sub Area are forced to use their personal vehicles for official duties. Paying 1 percent of your basic pay..ie Rs 2000 per month does not mean that your house should be fully furnished by the Sub Area welfare and regimental funds incl air conditioners, refrigerators, carpets, curtains, utensils, bed linen, TVs etc. Even the expandable like Soaps, Phenyl, Brooms etc are paid for from the Regimental Funds. The GOC has a heritage bungalow worth crores of rupees in Wellington which is leased to the Taj group of hotels, he has 2 children in the USA, often travels abroad each year. This points to embezzement since this is not possible in an army offrs salary. Besides the bungalow in Wellington, TN, the GOC also has bought land in Coorg for which one offr on reemployment , Lt Col Vetrivelu has gone on temporary duty thrice under false premises to get that land converted into commercial usage from forest land. Is it normal for an offr to be going on TD for personal work of a Gen offr? It points to fraud and cheating the exchequer. The last TD Col Vetrivelu went was on 08 June this month. The GOC stands posted as COS DB Area, Chennai wef 01 July 2026. As GOC TASA, he has got himself an independent bungalow allotted at Golconda garrison in Hyderabad despite being posted out. This is ordinarily not possible since Secunderabad and Golconda are two different Garrisons and being GOC Telangana Andhra Sub Area, he is posted to Secunderabad, Golconda is only meant for Artillery Centre, MH Golconda and 47 Infantry Bde. The bungalow which has been allotted in violation of SAO 10S of 86 is being furnished out of TASA welfare and Regimental funds. The GOC TASA is the custodian of all military lands in Hyderabad, where land is very expensive, there are multiple cases of encroachment, demands from politicians of all kinds for favours from the LMA. Is it normal for a GOC to be seeking to socialise with them, try meeting them in hotels, in his own house etc?????

27 Lakh Voters were deleted in West Bengal. These were not 'dead people' or 'bangladeshis'. These were real people who had already appealed to get their votes restored. The Supreme court could’ve delayed the West Bengal elections until the tribunals finished hearing the appeals of these voters. But they didn’t. Only around 1607 voters were restored in time by phase 2 of these elections. Almost every appeal that was heard turned out to be a wrongful deletion. In any functional democracy, this would not count as a free and fair election where a large section of voters have lost their voting rights. I'm not saying that TMC would've won for sure if they were added back, maybe BJP would still win, but the question is about the fairness of these elections. Free and fair elections are a spectrum. Ever since Delhi-Maharashtra-Bihar-Bengal, this needle has moved more and more towards being unfair. Each time somehow the opposition parties participate as usual in the electoral process thinking that they can still pull of a win despite the compromised EC, ED, CBI etc. and each time they have been proven wrong after 2024 Lok Sabha. The question is, at what point will they feel that the level of unfairness is so unfair that elections should be boycotted? I personally feel TMC should have refused to participate in these elections until all those 27 lakh appeals were finished being heard.

A cautionary tale about @urbancompany_uc and how a publicly listed company handles damage claims. Booked their technician (Sanju Kumar) to install a Luminous inverter at my home in Bangalore. Routine job. Should've been 2 hours. Invoice no: UCIC260004101947 Complaint no: 69f362690db9530026fe28d7 Instead of a standard install, he opened the main switchboard and worked with MAINS LIVE violating the most basic electrical safety rule. Phase-neutral cross-connection caused a ~280V surge through my home wiring. Within minutes: • Geyser circuit dead - Approximation given is around 12,000 to fix • 55" Smart TV motherboard fried, panel and screen damaged - looking at full loss ( Rs 48,000) • Apple TV completely destroyed (₹14,900 replacement) • Home electrical wiring compromised (Assessing currently) The moment Sanju Kumar realized he'd damaged the geyser, he packed up and LEFT mid-job. Inverter still uninstalled. No fix. No apology. No accountability. Had to hire a different electrician the next day to fix the wiring he broke out of my own pocket. Filed formal complaint with UC. Specifically requested a SENIOR technician for independent damage assessment. UC's response? They sent SANJU KUMAR BACK. The same person who caused the damage. To "take photos" of his own work and walk away. He showed up, photographed the damage he caused, left without resolution. No claims process opened. No callback. When we asked UC for a complaint ID, it took multiple follow-ups and a manual download of a tax invoice to extract any documentation. They were not proactive in issuing one almost as if to avoid creating a paper trail. 3 sleepless nights. ₹40,000+ in documented damages. Complete radio silence from UC corporate after that. @urbancompany_uc @abhirajbhal @raghavchandra @varunkhaitan — your company is publicly listed now. Retail and institutional shareholders are watching how customer grievances are handled. Is THIS the customer experience model investors signed up for? 1. Technician violates basic electrical safety 2. Damages multiple appliances and home wiring 3. Walks off mid-job when he realizes his mistake 4. Same technician sent back to "investigate" his own damage 5. Customer chases for documentation that should've been auto-generated 6. Then gets ghosted Listed companies are held to a higher standard of corporate governance, customer protection, and grievance redressal. SEBI compliance and investor disclosures aren't just about quarterly numbers they extend to how the brand treats its customers. This isn't how a publicly listed company should operate. Asking for: 1. Independent senior technician (not Sanju Kumar) to assess damage 2. Compensation for documented damages: ₹90,000+ 3. Formal acknowledgment of complaint 69f362690db9530026fe28d7 4. Process review — no customer should have to extract their own complaint ID 5. Public clarification on UC's damage claims SOP Have all invoices, technician's diagnosis report confirming overvoltage cause, photos, timestamps, and WhatsApp records. please be careful. If a clearly documented case is handled this way, imagine the cases without paper trails. Consumer forum filing prepared if there's no response in 48 hours.

I studied the life and work of Lee Kuan Yew, the Founder-Prime Minister of Singapore intensely during my early 20s. Immense respect for him. In this video clip, he advises a young woman pursuing a PhD not to neglect marriage and kids. I recently gave very similar advice. Elon Musk would say much the same thing. We have to orient our culture, society and the economy so that smart ambitious women do want to have children (and sadly, this needs to be said today: men cannot have children). If we fail at this, humanity will lose. Now let the attacks begin! 🤓
