WAS IT WORTH IT BUNGIE? WERE THE DEI HIRES WORTH IT? Your 250 MILLION dollar DEI flop just killed one of the biggest looter shooters to ever exist.

DEI is not a "buzzword", it's a literal business/hiring strategy that has a intentional and direct impact on the culture and priorities of a company. When a company prioritizes identity hiring, the quality of the the product drops (including the features you mention), since by definition you are no longer choosing to hire the most qualified people. You also alienable a chunk of your audience for no good reason, which further places financial pressure on the studio, since backlash will decrease revenue. How many more companies need to crash and burn before people get it?

Reality check for Destiny fans; Hating on Marathon will not help. First of all, it’s a good game. Second, actively rooting against Bungie’s success and revenues will result in less future investment in the IP that you claim to love. A rising tide carries all ships. Wake up.

I guess nothing brings the Destiny community together quite like the end of development. All of a sudden, everyone’s out here organizing synchronized login days and signing petitions to show support. Where was all of this when the game actually needed it?

@DestinyNostalgi as much money as bungie lost sony, they are a liability at this point. That's why they are all getting layed off except ones that will work on marathon to keep it going until they get their money back or its a complete loss, but bungie is done.

I see a lot of people signing a petition for D3, but If you want a Destiny 3, log on June 9th and play the fuck out of Monument of Triumph. I can assure you that whatever numbers that update pulls will be looked at very closely. Make the Destiny franchise undeniable.

Marathon did not kill Destiny. It seems to be the contrary. Marathon is the only thing that can save Destiny right now, and it might be the only thing that can save Bungie.

Damn, end of an era 😔 Nine years is wild for Destiny 2. Kinda sad there won’t be new story drops or seasons, but at least you can still log in and play what’s already there. Feels like Bungie’s fully shifting to Marathon now. You gonna hop back in for one last run, or are you already done with it?
