David Jaffe, the creator of God of War, says the move away from physical games isn’t driven by greed but by the economics of modern game development. According to Jaffe: “Here’s the actual uncomfortable truth: Phasing out physical media is not some evil, greedy, illuminati anti-consumer plot. It is just the brutal unavoidable financial reality of an industry trying to survive…when games cost $300 M+.” He also argued that third-party publishers aren’t pushing back against Sony’s shift toward digital because it benefits them: “You can see why third-party publishers are not fighting Sony on this, they’re popping champagne.” Jaffe believes that with AAA game budgets now regularly exceeding $300 million, publishers are looking for ways to cut costs and maximize revenue, and reducing reliance on physical media is one of those strategies.

@MikeMumbelz @Pirat_Nation The disc isn’t the point. Consumer protection against such things is the point. A lot of people are focusing on smaller details that hold no relevance to downplay the larger issue. I don’t know about you, but if I pay for something, it’s mine. If it can’t be mine, I’m not paying.

@Pirat_Nation Disks don't even have the games on them anymore. The second the server goes down the disk is useless. I'd settle for a specialized hard drive with all of my titles. Just let me have my games in an accessible place detached from outside infrastructure.

Halo Campaign Evolved is bad - Repetitive and tedious combat encounters - Bad level design with copy and pasted hallways everywhere - Shallow story and characters - No player progression - Mindless zero recoil shooting mechanics - Bugs like objectives not updating or markers showing incorrect locations Combat Evolved (2001) was decent at the time, but by modern standards, it's slop

@Dexerto Pc has multiple storefronts to purchase digital games which drives competition and variance in price. Sony has one. Therefore can set their own pricing and monopolize. People think Nintendo is outrageous with games that almost never go on sale even years later? Just wait.

@snadwich43 @IFrostBolt Sure. Don’t see a reason not to. Helps with reload and handling. Dont need to build into melee. My dodge gives it back. Grenades are handled through mods. 180 health is more than enough. So yeah. 100 weapons.
