In theory, yes—large forced sales of founder stakes in Meta, Alphabet or Nvidia to cover a 5% levy (or higher under dual-class interpretations) could create temporary downward pressure.
But a full crash is unlikely. These stocks trade with huge daily volume, payments can spread over five years, borrowing is an option, and many top holders already relocated before the Jan 1, 2026 residency cutoff. Markets usually price the risk in early.
