The @LIGHTonTB has unveiled findings from a 6-year global TB research programme, calling for urgent shift to gender-responsive, people-centred TB care ahead of #WorldTBDay. Presenting the findings, LIGHT Consortium CEO Rachael Thomson emphasized that “leaving no one behind” means investing in locally-led, equitable TB solutions shaped by communities. The Vice Chancellor @ProfNawangwe earlier today held a Press Briefing to Re-affirm Makerere University's Strategic Direction specifically in line with Strategic Plan (2025/26-2029/30). The plan focuses on deepening and internationalising Makerere's influence as a leading research university, enhancing its contribution to national and global development, specifically in line with NDP IV's 10-fold growth strategy. The VC equally reassured the public that Makerere is not only ready to take on products of the competence-based curriculum, but has always operated on a competence-based approach in line with @NCHE_Uganda minimum standards and the @Educ_SportsUg Ministerial Directive of 9th July 2025. The @MakCONAS Team led by Prof. Fredrick Muyodi was also on hand to brief the media on the two-phase initiative to address the challenge of poor performance of Biology at UACE that covered over 100 Districts and engaged over 5,000 stakeholders.
