On Saturday, July 11, 2026 , at 6:45 p.m., we pulled over a truck that had been unsafely modified. The tires stuck out further than the body of the vehicle & the truck did not have mud flaps, nor markers lights required when a vehicle is that wide & one tire was nearly bald.

I have an evolving list of rank factors for Gemini, more tests I do more confident my system is in each rank factor. But every now and then Google switches AI Mode to a new model (e.g. last week's switch Gemini 3.5 Flash).
What is the right thing to do here?
Separate. Re-run tests and maintain separate rank factor lists for each.

Incremental. Add new model tests to the old model's results.

Separatists are *shocked* by my suggestion that Canada could revoke Canadian citizenship from Albertans following a unilateral declaration of independence (UDI.)
They believe that Alberta would get to determine how Canada would respond to a UDI, and that Albertans would have a right to hold and transmit Canadian citizenship to the nth generation.
But at the same time, they would not grant Alberta citizenship to the ~50% or Albertans born outside the province, i.e. people who are Albertans by choice, not chance.
So half the Alberta population (myself included) would be ineligible for Alberta citizenship, but the separatists would get to keep their Canadian passport to travel and work in the rest of Canada visa-free.
How crazy is that?

This is not looking good for Canada.
The irony is that Canada helped pioneer breakthroughs behind AI and GLP-1s, two industries now creating trillions of dollars in value, yet much of that value is captured elsewhere.
Canada produces world-class science, but we continue to struggle with commercialization at scale. Too little growth capital, insufficient compute infrastructure, and too few pathways to build globally competitive companies.
We need to invest across the full stack: talent, capital, compute, regulation, and company-building, not just research grants. 🇨🇦
