I don’t care if Talarico is a vegan or has a girlfriend. I care that he has supported open borders, DEI, gender mutilation for minors, men in women’s sports, defunding police, abortion, strict gun control and universal healthcare. Those are disqualifying for a Texas Senator.

Genuine question for the anti-spanking crowd: How do you address blatant disobedience in your child? I’m not against a different way to discipline. I’ve just never been presented with an effective alternative. “Just reason with them” only works if they’re being reasonable.

I don’t know what to call this kind of psychosis were people will engage on deep analysis of stuff from movies ir shows as if they were real. The star destroyer was designed to look cool in a movie and the rebellion overperformed because the movie was written like that.

the imperial star destroyer has always fascinated me. it's a gunship, but it's also an aircraft carrier, and also a troop transport. that always seemed inefficient to me. but i think it tells us something about how the empire worked. the galaxy is a big, complicated place and imperial presence was surprisingly thin on the ground. my guess is that star destroyers are very logistically convenient. it might also tell us something about imperial command culture. my guess is that splitting roles across ships didn't work very well because the authoritarian culture of the empire made cooperation difficult. having one ship with one guy in charge probably worked better. i think it also suggests that the empire was focused more on internal politics than peer conflict. which makes sense because they had no peers. but was also why the rebellion tended to overperform.

I'm at almost 30k miles on my Cybertruck still running the original tires. They still have plenty of life left too. They are definitely holding up as well as, if not better, than on my Raptor. Curious what the means of propulsion has to do with tire longevity. I suppose if one consistently applied all that extra available torque it would wear the tires faster, but that's not the EV'a fault. Maybe my tires are lasting because I am 92% FSD.
